Help me find resisters to delete my side markers

hey everyone - i just got a c63 replica front bumper and the bumper has no side marker lights. this is fine, but without the bulbs i get the annoying "check bulb" display whenever i turn on my car.

question is - what kind of resister can i put in the harness to not show that error? i don't want a bulb, just something to trick the car into thinking a bulb is in there.

thanks in advance

I'm also interested in a solution to this.

I will say that one thing people have done in the past is just put the bulb in and tuck it somewhere behind the bumper, but people have said that you can see the glow in the crevices between parts. Maybe you can put some heat-resistant paint or something to block the light but still allow heat to dissipate from the bulb?

you can wrap the bulb in electrical tape if you do the tuck in approach to eliminate the light shining between the crevice.

I think I've seen you suggest this in the past, too. Do you think the bulb socket could get too hot if the bulb is wrapped?

Did that for one of my cars where I did a color matched sidemarker and had no issues.

There are other DIY alternatives like painting the bulb with black high temp caliper paint or simply wrapping it with aluminum foil (you can punch holes in it if you're concerned about heat for it to breath).

Thanks! I might try the high-temp black paint and keep it plugged into the side marker instead of tying it up behind the bumper.
