Driver's seat cushion change
Has anyone tried changing the foam of the drivers seat? I notice that my seat cushion is not comfortable and it does not feel supportive. If anyone had it changed then let me know the cost. thanks

thanks Vic I found the part online--
seat cushion pad
online price:: $129.60
I am not really a DIYer so I inquire regarding this when I take my car in for service next time. Also my friend was telling me to call up local upholstery shop and see if they can restore the foam by using steam.

Why bother when a completely new pad is only $129.60? , it shouldnt take much longer than 45 min for a experienced tech to swap it out.
Just make sure you got the correct pad, there are at least 8 different models.

I've been messing around the c250 drivers side seat bottom for a while now. It's not hard to remove/modify...I'm interesting in this pad you guys are talking about.

I've been looking for a solution for quite some time now. I even thought about replacing my sport seat bottom cushion for a luxury seat bottom (padding is different, as wells as the mbtex cover/stitching).
the luxury seat bottom has less aggressive bolstering/thigh support, as well as a different cushion pattern. my sister has a luxury, and I have a sport, same year, same model. her seats are a little softer and feel different, I've directly compared the two, so I know there is a difference.
the headrest configuration is different too, but I'm more concerned about the seat itself.

This might sound a little crazy but it worked. One of my friends had the same problem on his M3 and took it to an upholstery shop to have the seat redone, and the old guy that had worked there for like 20 years said he could fix it for $20. He pulled the car in the bay, and steamed the seat for about 5 minutes, massaged it, steamed it again, applied some leather treatment to it, and he said it has been great for about 4 months so far. It might be worth investigating.

So is your current seat cushion not up to spec? (been used a lot, malformed, etc..) or are you looking to change it out with this new one and have additional things done to it?
Looks like it's probably the right one.
I'm assuming this part is exactly what is in your vehicle now..will it be a back up for "experimentation" so you can revert back? Or is this cushion supposed to be a different/better version of the current?

So looking through this website, even though they have what appears to be a 'sport' section of seat parts and a 'luxury' set of seat parts, all the decriptions are exactly the same, there's no super detailed part number or anything, so I'm not even sure they have the differing parts (probably just the sport seat parts, because I believe a majority of drivers pick the sport version).
This is definitely an awesome find though!

hI Djejglk,
Yes my drivers seat is not as comfortable and supportive like the passenger seats, Its not extremely bad but it can get uncomfortable on long drives. Thanks for the PM, yes it is best to confirm the part with your your Mercedes dealer, as Vic mentioned in the earlier post there are 8 different models available so we need to make sure we get the correct part. G luck.

Seat Cover
My problem is the seat cover. I have a 2008 E350 with the cashmere interior and the driver seat (material MBTex) is worn to the underlying fabric. I would like to replace the seat cover and would like to know where I might get one. The dealer wants 520 dollars, got to be available for less. If you can help I'd appreciate it.

2013 Mercedes E350 (W212) / Sport
Resurrecting this discussion. I have a 2013 E350 with sport heated/ ventilated/ multi-contour seat. Seat is fine for short drives of 15 minutes or so, and not so comfortable after that. I know a previous post mentioned replacing the seat with the Volvo S60 driver seat (probably half joking), but I am actually wondering if you can use the same type of foam (softness/ support) from the Volvo seat and contour it to fit/ replace the foam in the MB seat. I think this would be the best of both worlds if possible. Has anyone tried this?
