C300 roof rack bolts covering lid broken - helpp please
Can anyone please tell me where can I find the replacement for only the broken lid? I went to the dealer and they said that I cannot get the lid replaced alone, instead I need to get the entire top strip replaced which costs around $650.
$650 seems too expensive. If anyone can point me to any OEM parts and installation instructions, it will be of great help.

I simply replaced both strips. The job is relatively simple. The total cost was just over $200 for both sides. I replaced mine largely because the plastic coating was coming off of the rear end of the strip and had gotten rather shabby in appearance.
Btw, wait till you have the replacement parts in hand. Looking at the new parts will help you to understand how best to remove the old ones.

Here in Ontario Canada I was quoted $165 taxes in per strip, I have a dent on one side but am hesitant to spend money unless I do both. It will probably look messed up if I only do one side.
The dealership also said they would put them on for free it takes 2 minutes per side if you know what your doing. You can also find a video online how DIY this just open the hood and pull up once the first clip goes be carful so you don't break the rest.

I have the same issue with the one of my roof lids being broken off, except i have a c350 with pano roof. Does anyone know what the "slides" are actually called or the part number? I searched on the OEM Mercedes parts website, but the illustrations of the part is poorly drawn and im not even sure that is the part im looking for.
