Might as well join the club: 2008 C300 Sport, car already had 78km when I acquired it.
Son has it most of the time. Things have been done to present as follow:
Serpentine belt, tensioner, idlers replaced at 80k, taillight recall at about same time.
a new set of brakes, 2 sets of tires, 2 parking light bulbs, a passenger seat switch ($450 part and labor), I know.
oil change regularly at 10k. Just replaced intake air filters and cabin air filters recently.
At around 125k, the CEL visited with codes P2006 and P0128 (Intake Manifold and Thermostat). The intake manifold indeed was in a real bad shape.
Indy shop charged $500 to install those 2 parts claiming it would take pretty much all day and it did take them all day.
A weird high pitch sound has developed right after they installed intake manifold....got me upset.
Shop suggested the air filter housing and Map be replaced due to small vacuum leak so we did.
At least high pitch sound gone but CEL remains, P0173 and P0170.
A new Bosch MAF sensor replaced (by Me) last weekend. Rescanned codes and P0173 was gone.
Erased P0170 only to see it reappear in 2 days....errr. Somehow car runs normal if minus CEL.
Please advise me what would be next logical step to tackle.
Car now has 138xxx miles and being used daily...feel my pain. P0170 - Fuel Trim Malfunction (bank 1).

Thank you for your response, I have thought about taking the 02 sensors (upstream 2 sensors) approach but the cost of it was hard to compromise.
I believe, I still have the original 02 sensors with 138xxx miles on the car. How hard is it to change both upstream sensors??
Could it be easily done with just 2 jack stands and some crawling under the car?

Another shop who initially installed intake manifold might have screwed things up with hoses not Properly connected right or failed to acknowledge
aged hoses which needed replacement when working on intake manifold.
My plan is to replace all coils and plugs, Pcv and cam plugs which I've ready bought all Oem parts once CEL departs the dash. thanks again all.

Well I've now reached 164k miles on my used C300 sport (bought at 46k miles) and considering getting rid of it for a used C207 or W205.
Haven't really had any major issues besides heated seat going out within the warranty period luckily.
Torn driver seat which seems to be common. $250 for a replacement.
I may have a steering leak as my fluid was really low which I hope might just be a leaking reservoir.
Engine mount might be going out as well.
I really love this car as it has a lot of options and with upgrading to a 2012 steering allowed me to have working paddle shifters. This is a must for me on my next car. Will be sad to see her go.

I just past 160k miles last week in my 2008 c300 and its just too good to get rid of. No leaks, electrical issues other than the bottom portion of the heated seats not working, the car is a tank and it would be stupid to trade-in/sell something that has no issues. Change the oil every 5k and transmission fluid every 40k and I'm certain I get this car to 300k. The engine doesn't even burn oil nor leak it which is always impressive for a 10+ year old car.

2014 C300 Sport 4Matic - 196,000km
2nd owner, bought for 12k (Canadian) last September @ 193,000km
-Planetary gear replaced in transfer case
-Blower motor replaced
Both repairs were done for ~1040$ total at the dealer
-Oil changed every year (I don't put much mileage)
-ATF never changed

Check the car's service history. You have the 7G+ transmission which requires a transmission fluid and filter change every 112,000 km (70,000 miles) as per Mercedes. I have the same transmission and no way in hell I am waiting for 70,000 miles. I will change the transmission fluid every 60,000 km or 40,000 miles for the peace of mind and longevity of the transmission.

It's up to you to decide, but in both cases, don't forget to enjoy the car

I am sure MB would not wish to sell you one if you do not service it correctly.
I do not find your policy logical. You would very likely receive more back in a trade if the service records were up to speed therefore paying for the trans service . It would also negate the risk you are taking in it failing you at the most inappropriate time .

2008 C350 German-made. 110k, repairs were steering column lock, melting bulb harness, air bag, belt pensioner. A/Bs at dealer on most recommendations.

Wow that's awesome on the W203. Just had to replaced my ESL motor at 169k miles on my W204. First major problem I've had. Did you encounter more issues with your W203 after certain mileage?

Do you have to do Brake fluid and "Power Steering Fluid" change?? Thoughts? Thanks!

This is because it has a plastic Shaft that will break after few years... very typical Mercedes planned obsolescence trick. You might want to check out this part to replace that plastic shaft:

Reliable car
I have a 2011 C300 4matic sport
Bought it at 71k, now has 141k. No issues runs awesome.
only thing I did was put in a new rear subframe ($2,200) only because I hit a huge pothole. Other than that it’s just had normal maint. Headlights suck so I’m replacing them now with LED.

2013 C250 1.8 turbo
236,000 miles
still runs VERY strong
replaced:
banjo bolt on turbo oil feed line
idler pulleys and belt
alternator
starter
timing chain
head gasket (precautionary while doing chain @ 200k)
turbo oil feed seal (3 times)
oil and filter changes every 10,000 miles
usual brakes, tires, etc.
I do all my own work (except tires) since I lost trust in the MB shop at 70,000 service visit.

Glad to see people driving them as they were built for. I can’t believe the number of people that get rid of them after 70k-100k. These cars have great quality in the engine compartment. No reason you shouldn’t get over 300k on anything made after year 2000. My motto is service service service. Take care of it as soon as it happens. Even when it’s inconvenient, get it fixed. These vehicles last a long time unless you buy used from someone who hasn’t serviced like it should.
I don’t have to have the latest models to keep up with the Jones’s. But I am OCD about functionality. Oil belongs IN the motor, not ON the motor! LOL If you delay repairs, they multiply in number and costs.

Our CPO C250 purchased summer 2014 - currently at odometer 38,000 - has no issues since delivery.
Dealer service is rather expensive. But the car itself is beautifully crafted, drives taut, steady and quietly.
My wife is gentle and patient by nature (so the little coupe sees little stress).
Surprisingly, the 1.8/7G+ automatic combination calc's about 35 MPG 65+ freeway.
