Service Due
Hey guys, I recently just bought a certified pre-owned 2010 MB C63 AMG from the dealership, and I noticed it says service is overdue by 15 days. So i called a dealership in town and the service due (service A5) is about $429, which does a visual inspection along with a oil and filter change. Or I could go an alternative route and pay $220 for just an oil change (which is all they essentially do in service A5 plus a tire rotation if they deem necessary). Do you guys feel like the visual inspection is worth it for an extra $200 or should i just go with the oil change? Also, would it be possible for me to reset the service light on my own?

How long ago did you get it? If it was recently I'm surprise they did not do the service before they sold you the car. I would suggest you do your oil and filter change yourself and reset the service indicator. It's easy to do I just forgot the few buttons you need to type. I'm sure someone on here will chime in with the buttons.

I bought it a week ago, and to be fair, they did give me $200 off when i mentioned this at the dealership, and i got the vehicle priced very fairly. The dealership also provided me with a pre purchase inspection which came up clean. Not sure if i really need the extra visual inspection for $429 when i could get the oil change for about $220.

Hmm idk I just find it odd that they would sell a CPO that had a service due / was over due. But no the visual inspection is not worth the extra money. All the do is check all fluids, check break pads and rotors, tire pressure, all your lights, tire wear, and like you said rotate the tires if they need it. And you can't really rotate since they are staggered fitment anyway.
Also you should replace the cabin filter also with the service.

Correct, I think I'm going to go ahead and book for just an oil change. Can't believe that just for a basic inspection they are charging $200 more. I am also going to check how much it is for the cabin filter, and go from there lol.
