The big fin seems to match the black spoiler better on lighter cars than body painted ones.

I've got a "big" fin from JBSpeed and it's honestly my favorite mod on my car. I say go big or go home

Thanks for the input guys. I've decided to save the $ and keep what I have on it for now. Car has 80k miles on it and next year will have 100k. So I may end up getting rid of it anyhow. I just gotta shake off this mod bug

You have the one from 3amotors correct? Placing my order when I get back home from working offsite. Going to see if they will do a packaged shipping deal too if I order a front lip as well. See what they say.

So I have the rear diffuser sitting in my cart, however before I pull the trigger I wanted your blessing. Does the finish of the JL-Motoring splitter match the 3AMotor diffuser? As in if you had them side by side, would it pass as if they were made from the same company? How's the fit and finish of the diffuser?

Srry for the late reply. I hope you pulled the trigger. The JL motoring front lip does indeed match very well with the diffuser. It could pass as the same company in my opinion. Although, the only thing negative I have to say is that 3amotor's fitment was not spot on and I am still a little skeptical about their quality. I brought it to BenzWorks in Huntington Beach and the guy working on it said he had to try really hard to make the diffuser fit which caused him to put more effort. Overall, it ended up looking perfect. And I'm extremely satisfied with how it looks. Time will tell whether the quality of 3amotor's diffuser will uphold like JL's front lip. I park my car in the garage so it barely see's the sun. Hopefully the diffuser never turns yellow.

Thanks man. I guess we're in it together. Ordered yesterday before leaving the office, and earlier this morning I got another email stating it has already shipped out.

Estimated delivery : Fri. Apr. 17 - Wed. Apr. 22

Personally, I'm banking on Taiwain's reputation of making quality carbon bicycle parts. I've ordered a few carbon fiber items from Taiwan before (example: bicycle wheels) and those have been spot on.

Congrats on turning me back to the dark side. The mod bug is so hard to shake off. But I swear this is the last of it.

Very nice! I'm excited for you and I'm glad I could contribute hahah. Good to know Taiwan has a good reputation for making quality carbon parts, I was not aware of that prior to my purchase of the diffuser. Makes me feel more comfortable with the purchase.

Be sure to post pictures once you've got it installed. Cheers

Alright I bought the last one available just now. The fitment was my only real concern. Yellowing gel coat is pretty easy to sand and respray if needed.

Did you get yours yet?!

I never even got an email from them let alone have they updated PayPal or eBay with a shipping confirmation. Typical lol.

Yes I did. Yesterday in fact, complete with a fedex tracking number sent via email. I had complete confidence from payment to delivery. Haven't opened the box to inspect it yet though.

Update:

So it comes in a wooden box. Sorry FFM, but there was only 1 in there.

As far as installation, it SEEMS straight forward, however I am not able to remove the stock valance because unlike the C63 or pre-facelifted models, this one is held on by rivets on the side, not a torx screw.

Currently I am stuck since I do not know how to remove the rivets gracefully.

EDIT:
10:30 pm...just found JaredP's post...
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...w204-pics.html

Looks like I'll be trying the drill method in the morning.

Oh yeah you will have to drill out the rivets. Was super common on Volvos. Not too bad.

As for mine they finally responded by saying they forgot to put the value on the customs label. Which they apparently resent although haven't received a tracking number. I leave tomorrow for two weeks for work. Hope it shows while I'm gone.

It comes in a wooden box.

There was only 1 inside. (kinda hoping FFM's was in there too)

From the outside it looks OEM. However I know the fit and finish is not 100%. Example: Not all the tabs are uniform, and I had to drill 4 holes myself (2 at each end and 1 for each bracket).

Still debating if I should leave it as is. Currently it is held on by 4 zip-ties. 2x on each end where the OEM used a rivet and 2x to secure the diffuser to the brackets. If you look closely, you can see I basically shaved the OEM brackets with a sander to match the contours of the diffuser.

As it stands it is pretty solid. Because of the OEM brackets, you can't push the diffuser further in, and because of the zip ties, you can't pull it out either. Time will tell if the zipties last, but at this point, I'd rather use pliable zipties, than a rigid mount.

Right on man! I can't wait to get home and throw it on now. Normally I hate stuff like zip ties even if you can't see them knowing they are there would drive me nuts. But I agree with your logic. A rigid mount could case some cracking.

I'm going to use some leftover plastic push pin style rivets since they should hold position without putting much pressure against the material.

Hmmm....in that case please document. I'm more than willing to change mine if it makes more sense to do so. I'm curious how you'll tackle the OEM bracket.

These are pretty common plastic panel rivets that allow minimal movement but would likely break before causing damage to the panel itself which is nice.

Will likely try and use these if at all possible. Same style used on the rear diffuser on my M from the factory.
