2012 C300 - Need help with Depo Projection Headlight Install

Hey guys,

I installed the headlights. However, I have a couple of issues:

1. I cannot install the inside screw The original screw that came with my old headlight does not fit. I am talking about the one that is in the wheel well and screws on directly to the headlight. It has a w

asher.

2. My right headlight seems to bulge out a little bit.

3. My headlight on the left the gap between the hood and bumper seems to be pretty big.

Below are the pics.

Can anyone provide some advice? has anyone else had any issues like this?

did you tighten other bolts before you put the back bolt by the washer? put the bolts on but don't tight them until you install all the bolts.

I tried loosening it as well. I tried it both ways. The screw doesnt seem to fit in the back for me. It seems too small. It just goes straight through.

you know the bolts size are different between all 3 bolts on the headlight. 2 of them are long and 1 is short.

Yes. I used the long one with the washer. For some reason it doesnt fit. It seems too small. The one that came with my car was 8mm bolt.

im not sure if this is related to answer your question #3 maybe worth a try. if i open my hood for whatever reason and if i close it with no force or more force on one side the other side would leave a gap like yours. so to make it close evenly i would have to bring it down a bit and put one hand on each side and just push down(slightly slamming the hood) . this will close my hood evenly no gaps.

aligning the headlight and bumper is the hardest thing of the whole job. i took my headlights to a body shop to install. it literally took 2 hours to align it (after 3-4 times of taking off the bumper and putting it back on). I told the worker if he can do it perfectly i would slip him $20 (behind the boss' back).

Edit: i mean there was no gaps/problems with it, i was just being extremely picky since i was paying $$ to have it installed so i wanted it perfect and symmetric.

Thanks for the advice. It didn't seem to work. I guess I will have to do all the work again to realign everything properly.

anyone else have any advice?

did you figure it out? i got my headlights today and installed it. no problem. just took some time to aligned it properly.

I know the exact issue with your right head light. just need to get it aligned properly. you need to have a friend or someone to help you. dont remove or loose the bumper. just loose all 3 bolts on the headlight. fully closed the hood and align the headlight to make it flush to the hood and bumper. and make sure there is no gap between the headlight and the bumper. once its aligned you might have to hold or push the headlight to stay at that position. ask your friend to open the hood for you and tighten the bolts.

to answer the bolt issue. my bolt was long and i didn't have any problem installing it. but if you look at the back of the headlight where you mount the bolt there should be a clip that the bolt go in to. make sure that is there or it would just go staight through.

let me know if you have any other issues

The driver side light seems to be too high. There is a gap between the light and hood. And the passenger side is way off
