Hello all, I was wondering if people could post up their exhaust setups w/ some product links and possible sound clips/videos. Let's see what you got!

I had a Meisterschaft on mine. I liked the connected ovals. More distinctive look than standard quads and never have to worry about the two openings lining up correctly.

Here's a sound clip

If you can afford it, the Meisterschaft system is hands down the best looking/sounding one for the money.
I would definitely not do the muffler delete AND X-Pipe. Yes it sounds good on the videos, but the drone between 2k-3k RPMs will drive you crazy.
Start with the magnaflow X-Pipe as many of us here have and see how you like it. It's very cheap and gives a really nice tone. If it's not loud enough for you, then after you can go ahead and delete the primary resonators between the X-Pipe and CATs.

I totally agree. That drone would drive me nuts lol

Honestly there is not that much drone until after 3k. I really dont why people are bad-mouthing muffler delete/x-pipe without ever sitting in one. I would recommend Xpipe first and if you still want more, get a muffler delete

I may have an alternative option for those that want muffler delete loudness or muffler quietness at the flip of a switch. Exhaust cut outs, specifically electronic exhaust cutouts. I ordered two cheap chinese ebay electronic cut out kits for $100 each, and $20 2 year warranty for each. Each kit includes a Y pipe cut out, an electronic cut out, a bent end pipe tip and all necessary wires. If you don't mind getting under your car everytime you want to open the cut out, a Y pipe with an end plate will be much cheaper and very reliable. I bought waranty for the electronic cut outs because I don't have much faith in their longevity. I accidentally ordered the wired switches instead of the wireless version so I am returning it and ordering the correct kit.

Here is a video link of someone who already did it on his C300

Wow, I've always wondered if something like that could be done for our cars. This really is a very good option. I would be just worried that the flaps would freeze up here in the winter and the longevity of the diverters gears/electronics down there.

Again, great find there.

Sorry but I just can't get behind any of this. Makes the car sound like some puny wheezer. JMHO

Thank you.

I've done a ton of research about electronic cut outs and they are more than likely to fail within a year or two. Cheap chinese ones are even more likely to fail than the expensive brand name butterfly valves. Harsh weather conditions like extreme cold or salt will make them even more prone to early failure. The only electronic cut outs that seem to be reliable are the doug's headers guillotine style valves, but those are quite expensive. I'm in warm climate california, so I don't have to worry about the extremes.

The reason I chose the cheap ebay kits is because of the 2 year, $20 assurant warranty. If the valves fail within 2 years, which I'm sure they will, then I get a full refund on the kits and I am only out $20 per kit. The Y pipe itself costs more than $20, so in the end, I'll still be getting a good deal.

For like $100 is X-pipe really worth it? Does it make that much of a sound difference?

The X-pipe is by far the best bang for the buck mod for our cars. Absolutely worth it IMO and pretty much everyone that has posted about getting it done.

I 100% agree. If you want a more aggressive exhaust note, especially in the higher RPMs, then the Xpipe amazing.

Even with an aftermarket exhaust, you'll probably still want the X-pipe with resonator delete. That's the setup I ran matched with my Meisterschaft. I had the Magnaflow Tru-X.

Agreed, Xpipe was one of the best mods I did. 3K+ RPM sounds great, overrev in sport mode sounds great and combined with a Sprintbooster I'm almost always past 3K RPM at the expense of mileage but who cares, gas is cheap!

Here:
Amazon.com: Magnaflow 10790 Tru - X Stainless Steel 2.25" Exhaust Pipe: Automotive Amazon.com: Magnaflow 10790 Tru - X Stainless Steel 2.25" Exhaust Pipe: Automotive

That's the one I have, that's the one almost all of us have. You will need 2 small pieces of extra piping while you are there since the X pipe is smaller than the Cat they are going to cut out. Some spots can charge you, the place I went to didn't. Shouldn't cost more than $40 for the 2 pieces of extra pipe.

I want to do the xpipe, but i have no idea how to explain to the shop where to put it. Any advice on what to instruct the shop? Is there a diagram floating around somewhere I could show them exactly what to do?

Underneath the car you will see a resonator, remove it and install the X pipe. Here are before and after pictures, try to give the shop some credit this isn't some foreign concept I'm pretty sure they know what they are doing.

And if the shop still doesn't understand what you mean by replace resonator with X-pipe..... find a different shop as I wouldn't trust any muffler shop that didn't understand that simple job.
