Can packages be added to a Merc after being delivered to the owner ?
Hey guys, I wish you all a happy new year !! And I also wanted to ask you all if the packages like Adaptive Braking can be fitted into a w204 even if I haven't ordered it from the beginning ???

I think they can. Problem is any package tends to cost more than trading trading the vehicle outright. Every package I've looked at is usually in the thousands and requires replacing major parts, adding modules, wiring, programming, etc.
I think the best way would be DIY with a part out from a junked car. Even then the junk yards aren't exactly cheap either.

I have retrofitted numerous OEM things like the power folding rear view mirrors, intelligent light system (ILS), and blind spot assist. True that it is far more expensive to add these after buying the car versus ordering packages when buying new. The power folding mirrors and ILS is not available as a USA option, that's why I did it afterwards.

The owner's manual indicates folding mirrors is only available in Canada. I'm not sure why that is. What about Canada requires folding mirrors?
Other than being kind of cool I'm not sure what use they serve.

I don't know about Canada, may be the roads/ parking spaces are narrower.

It requires the mirror glass for both outside review mirrors, the radar units located in the rear bumper, wiring, control module, and programming. Not for an average backyard mechanic

Folding mirrors as you've guessed is more useful when parking spaces are tight and roads are narrower (if parking kerb side). At least in majority of US this doesn't happen. Excluding big cities like New York ,DC, etc the only use is if your garage door is narrow. I don't know about Canada, may be the roads/ parking spaces are narrower.

Thanks for info. The mirror glass for just the basic auto dim costs a fortune so this must have been pricey.

What is different between the power folding mirrors and the Regular ones? My car was sold here in the United States and they fold when I lock the car. I can enable and disable it via the menu in the dash. Also, I can fold them when inside the car as well with the button in between the mirror select buttons. I only have the P1 package.

I think earlier W204 cars had this in the US.
I think they drop and bring back occasional features to have a new bullet point in the brochure...
