Why is car automatically playing iPhone music?

Everytime I get in my car (2013 C300), the car automatically connects to my iphone and starts playing my music. How can I stop this from happening? Thank you.

I don't want Bluetooth turned off, I just don't want it to automatically start playing my music.

Mine will often start playing something from my music library, even if I last used Pandora in the car. If I last played tunes from my plugged-in iPod, though, that will play when the car is restarted.
Other than turning off Bluetooth as suggested, I'm not aware of any way to not have your music start. Maybe switch your source to radio before shutting the car off...? The car should restart with the radio going, in that case, rather than Bluetooth (although you will still be connected).

Auto play on connect is a feature of iOS. The only way to turn it off is to jailbreak and use a tweak (AVRCP. Repo: repo.andrewwiik.me)

Mine doesn't do this? If I ever get out of the car and leave my music in the background when I come back in, it will be paused and I can resume it via knob, but if I completely close the app from phone it won't play anything until I open it again. Then again, I don't have any media stored on my phone locally.

That's standard no matter what phone OS you are using. iOS, android and windows phone will all do this. Although android tends to be the most unpredictable as to if it will resume play or not.

I don't like this feature where I plug in my iPhone and it automatically plays from the phone. I usually listened to the radio, so I just press the radio button on the dash and I'm all good again.
I was hoping there was a setting in the Engineering Menu, but I couldn't find anything.
