Hey guys! First time posting in this forum. I'm usually in the GL(X164) Forum. October is near and I'm thinking about buying me a 2008-2009 C300. Most of the ones I am finding are around 90k miles or higher. Would it be smart to buy one with that mileage? Are there any common problems around this mileage I should be aware of? Thanks in advance... -Dee.
With that age and those miles maintenance history is key, more specifically proof of maintenance. Maintained, I don't see how 80k miles is anywhere near end-of-life for a Mercedes.
I think that's more a US mindset where luxury cars are treated like 100k maintenance-free appliances. Find one from a more sensible previous owner and you'll be ok.

Sure, if you're keeping the car for just 10k miles. Poor maintenance doesn't manifest itself under 100k. It's the post-100k that's the problem.Originally Posted by abqhudson
Not unless it has a CPO warranty for a year.

I agree completely. Unless my W204 gets in a serious wreck, I personally do not plan to sell anytime before 10 years and/or 155k miles. The key is maintenance IMO.Originally Posted by cvx5832

I have a 2008 C350 with 83K miles besides regular maintenance, I have replaced 2 sets of tires, 1 set of rear brake pads and rotors the ignition switch, sway bar bushing and now looks like the intake manifold flap is crack (doing research) not bad for a 9 years old car and still feels tight and powerful but, I always say anything that it has mechanically movement tents to brake any time, test drive it and it feel good get extended warranty and you will be fine.

No! You might luck out, but I wouldn't do it.
Instead of getting the C300, plans are currently now to keep the GL450 (X164) for me for high school, and once October gets here, the new family SUV will be a newer GL450 or GL550 (X166). I will just change and modify the X164 however I like it
