Spoke to Juan on the phone before going in. Forgot the guys name that actually worked on my car but he was like the Michael Jordan of pipe bending and tip alignment lol.

Installed 2 Magnaflow's (10415) today. Sounds perfect on start up, <2k rpm, and downshifting - subtle deep gurgle. Unfortunately, way too much drone at 2K+ rpm though! Going to put back the stock resonator back on next week. Update you guys soon.
Stock resonator is pretty much 1 hollow crossover. Hopefully that will fix the drone but keep the tone.

Definitely agree with you there. I will try and put together a video, but it's really hard to get an accurate representation. I think I might eventually try either a J pipe at each muffler, or a 2x2 high flow resonator in place of the stock one to reduce the highway drone. It's unfortunate because around town it sounds nice.

The exhaust shop provides the pipes for muffler delete and secondary cat deletes. Some shops can also make you an X-Pipe but most get the #10790 xpipe from magnaflow, just bring the x-pipe and they'll know what to do with it. Just make sure you find a shop with a pipe bending machine.

This is a very thorough post! How have I missed it for so long? I've been through a series of custom exhausts, too. Stock to x-pipe/magnaflow mufflers to x-pipe/stock mufflers/2nd cat delete. I liked the sound of the magnaflow mufflers, but there was just too much drone! My current setup is pretty comfortable but still clearly audible when warm (many passengers comment about the exhaust) but still has a loud, raspy cold-start bark.
Do you still have drone with 2nd cat delete/x-pipe/magnaflow mufflers? I can imagine my old setup intensified by the 2nd cat delete.
Here's my C300 with my current setup on a brisk winter morning.

Hopefully my new SS Eisenmann cat back system won't have a drone on the highway some speak of with other exhaust systems.
It will drive me mental if it does.

It's been a few years since I've had that setup, but I definitely heard drone from 2K-3K RPMs, so it was pretty uncomfortable when cruising.

2010 C300 4MATIC........ 2011 C63 AMG.............. 2015 CLS400 4MATIC.....
Looks like it will only be x-pipe then for me when the time comes!
MBMarko suggested Lawson x-pipe vs Magnaflow....
the price is cheaper so I decided to investigate for a few minutes (lol).
Not sure if this is legit info, two different words:

So any testimonies if lawson rusts ez?

Here's a unique "angle" from my rear dashcam. Actual cabin noise is less noticeable than what the dash microphone picks up
Resonator delete/replaced with Xpipe only.
