The W204 Exhaust Thread - X-Pipe, Straight Pipe, Mufflers, etc.
I think it's time to start an exhaust thread guys! I'm sure many of you have seen the plethora of "exhaust advice" threads, so I'm hoping this catches on and people just check this thread like they check the Official Lowering Spring Thread for all the info.
So here it is, post up all your sound/video clips along with the the following info in this thread:
Year/Model
Your Setup with Part #s
Here are the setups I've had so far, I have interior and exterior sound clips of each setup.
Here is a few videos that I've upload regarding exhaust. My final setup is X-pipe and muffler. Its the best option for pure sound. The drone kicks kicks in after 3k and 5k-red line is an awesome and unique sound
I just did muffler deletes to AMG quad tips the other week. Getting the resonator and secondary faux cats deleted for a Magnaflow Xpipe this weekend. I'll try to upload a sound clip for you guys later.
Those sound great thanks for the posts guys. I like how the 2nd cat delete and x pipe sounds with the stock muffler. I'm using the #11226 mufflers I really like them, it gives it a more deep tone compared to the stock mufflers. There are different inlet/outlet configurations so you have to get the one that works with the tips you are using. I got the mufflers from a muffler shop so they took care of everything for me.

I'm using two #10416 mufflers. They're a straight through design so the exhaust flow is a lot less restricted. From your previous clips I want to say my exhaust is a bit deeper and aggressive. http://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=10416
Here's what it looks like now after I found the perfect exhaust tips to my liking:
Also you're telling me those secondary "cats" have no media inside them besides baffling? No sensors? If I remove them I won't get any malfunction lights?

Sounds great!!! Is their a chance that you still have your old quad tip?
Those mufflers sound gr8, might look into those and there are no sensors in the 2nd cats, no CEL
One thing to note is even though the 10416 is the same length (20 in. overall) since it is a straight design and not offset like the 11226, space will be tight in the rear cavities.
The exhaust shop I went to cut off the end piping off the mufflers and inserted the exhaust tubing into the muffler to achieve a tighter bend. They did this because connecting it to the end tips on the mufflers would've meant the crush-bend on the tubing would've been too tight.

you should provide a video of after muffler delete and after the resonator and sec cats removed.
Here's a launch clip of my car with the xpipe in. Resonators are still installed, stock mufflers, only difference is the xpipe in place of the resonator. Pretty pleased with the sound!

This is exactly what I am getting done Monday as well, just the X-Pipe replacing the Resonator. I don't want too go too loud and sound like every Honda in my city and I don't want to sound too racer if I don't have the power to back it up. I have the NA V6 so it should sound throatier. Great stuff
Alright finally got around to getting a sound clip of the exhaust setup.
Mods:
Muffler deletes for E63 AMG square quad tips, and a resonator delete for a Magnaflow X-Pipe. The primary cats and ball "faux" cats in front of the canister resonator were left installed. The car loses noise/rasp once it warms up fyi.

I like the straight pipe sound, sounds raw! Funkwagon's sounds just right. I never tried X-pipe with stock mufflers but from the videos I've heard with stock mufflers, it's definitely a must have mod if your even slightly considering modding your w204! X-pipe 4 Life!
