Best Budget All Season Tires and Front Lip?
Dear mbworld,
I need recommendations for the best budget all season tires for 19" wheels on my 2013 C300 Sport. Keep in my mind I leave in the Northeast so they need to be able to handle snow well. I also don't want to rub so low profile would be ideal.
Also, do you think this front lip will yellow?

Thanks,
Nicholas Kuczmarski

I have had excellent luck with Falken tires. Don't know what size you need or what the snow performance is.
First ran into them when I purchased a used Mercedes from a Mercedes dealer who had put them on the car.
Low noise, great treadwear warranty, decent handling.
YMMV.

Conti pros are stock. He is talking about Continental DWS 06 tires. They aren't cheap. You probably have staggered fitment, look at the plate on your driver's side door. Make sure they put the right tire on the right wheel etc. I actually had a friend with a C63 get the tires mixed when put on the car, meaning they put skinny tires on the wider rear wheel and stuck the rear wheel with the skinny tire in the front. Had to dismount the tires and remount. Could have done damage had he not realized it.
BF Goodrich makes a great all season tire. The Comp 2 AS tire is a great tire for the money. About a month ago I went to a driving event with identical new V6 mustangs and ran the tire above and the DWS 06 (which is what I run on 3 of my 4 cars). We did slalom, wet braking and wet cornering and I will tell you that the BFG was a better performing tire. I actually went under the car to verify the DWS tires were not more worn. nope brand new, both tires. I was shocked at the better wet stopping and wet cornering slalom grip that I had with the BFG's. For transparencies sake I work for a national chain service provider that installs over 4 million tires a year. I am a Director of Service. I thought Contis were the better tire, I was proven wrong and had I not beeen driving the cars myself back to back, I am talking do one lap in one car and get right into the other car several times I would never, ever have believed it. Going forward I will save a few bucks and go BFG in my cars. On my lemons car we run BFG Rivals when it's dry and Conti DWS when it's cold and wet. That will change when I need new tires after the next race

All seasons = no seasons. IMO no all season is capable of handling snow. It's unsafe IMO. I would read up on how bad all season tires are in snow, especially in a RWD car with an open diff.

Ok I didn't realize you didn't actually mention of you have rwd or 4matic. If it's rwd forget everything I said and go buy dedicated snow tires on a different set of wheels. There are lots of options out there. If it's awd then AS works fine in a market like philly. I live in Philly and have for over 20 years. My wife has driven a c class 4 matic for over 10 years in this area and has always had AS tires with 0 issues. If you live in heavy snow country then sure go get you some snow tires

I've ran DWS all the way around for the past few years. Just recently put new DWS 06 on the front. No issues at all. Love them. I wouldn't depend on them in heavy snow, but a light dusting has never been an issue. You'd probably want to stick dedicated snow tires on your stock rims and keep the 19's for summer duty since you're in the NE.

Atlas Grey, with all your experience could you suggest a reasonably priced all season tire that is quiet.I currently have Generals and they are loud! Thanks.

Strat,
Are you 4 Matic or RWD? If 4Matic I would do what I stated above. I have run Conti DWS's for years but you could save a bit more money and go with the BFG's Comp 2 A/S. Looks like you live in jersey so your weather is prob very similar to mine. When my tires are in need of replacement that's what I'm going with. In all fairness I have never had a single issue with DWS's to be honest and as I mentioned I have lived here for 10 years. you can't got wrong with either of those two choices. What I'm not going to do is put cheap tires on my car. The difference in grip as well as stopping distance between different brands is staggering. I have probably put 10,000 miles testing tires for my company and have seen and felt first hand the difference tires make. The contact patch on a tire is about the size of your hand, I know I want the grippiest contact patch I can get.

Pirelli
wut
Cheapest lip is EZLIP, ezlip.com. I haven't bought it yet, but you can get 10% of "entering to win" when you lose. So, do that and give it ~week.
You can then get the CF tape design or paint the lip.

I also go with Pirelli's... I can't advise on all season's though...
I live in a place with very sleek winters with lots of ice and snow...
I can say that I have run Pirelli Sottozero Series II's M+S runflats for the past 8 years. Love them.
My summer tires, I ran Pirelli P-Zero Nero's but honestly, although I do think they are a great tire, I think they are over priced, and decided to try the Pirelli Rossa and loved them.
I know it doesn't help much...
Sorry!
