Can I put 4 tires on that are the same size or do I need to keep the 225/45 18 on front and 255/35 18 on rear?

benefits of same sized tires would help me I think.

You cannot and that is the best setup you can have with OEM rims. The reason is because the rear rim is 1 inch wider than the front.

^ above. Otherwise you would need new rims as well.

If you want to square up max would be 19x8.5

Would stay with the 18s for ride comfort. 19s look great. Not a lot of rubber. I like my OEM 18s even though front and back are different sizes.

Is there a reason you want to change the factory specs? Just wondering. The price difference between tires is not that great and outside of giving you the ability to rotate tires I am not sure why you would do the change.

Why would you replace the OEM 18s with more 18s? Just to rotate? Get nondirectional tires and rotate side to side.

45 offset. I have 235/35 all around but if you are lowered I would say 225/40 all around because front rubs when wheel is turned and you hit a dip

Well I've put square tires (225/45/18) on my staggered wheels. I have a C350 2013 with the 18" AMG wheels package (8 inches wide front and 8.5 rear) and I use these wheels for the winter. The difference between the front and the rear is really barely noticable.

I did that to have the possibility of rotating the tires and also because smaller tires width = better traction on snow.

I'll buy new summer wheels when the winter is over.

The fronts are actually 7.5 inches so 1 inch difference from back. This is a really bad idea that could cause the 4Matic/transmission to fail and dealer would not cover it because of the wheel setup.

It can't damage the 4matic. My setup has the same tire diameter as the factory spec and it's the only thing that matters. Only the surface of contact to the road is changed and that's totally okay. By the way I just checked my car manual and it's 8inches and 8.5 for me. Canadian version. I measured them too when I made the switch.

I did ton of researches on that and I'm sure about what I'm doing. Also tons of c350 4matic are on 17" square.

The split spoke AMG rims on my C350 are 18x8 front, 18x8.5 rear. I think the guy is correct.
