Hi there, i have a Merc C 180k 2009 which has bluetooth as it connects to my phone without any issues but i have found that i am unable to play music through the bluetooth connection for some reason... i've tried everything but still no luck.

I think its a package you have to have to be able to play music through bluetooth. My friend has the same thing in his E-class, he can call and everything but cant play any music. He didnt order the package when he bought the car

 

You can't unless you have the multimedia package, I use a Tune2Air connected to an iPod adapter in the glovebox.

 

In my 2013, its under Audio / Bluetooth Connection. It plays iHeart, Pandora, etc.

 

pre-FL cars do not have Bluetooth streaming, only Bluetooth phone. I have the multimedia package and use a tune2air to trick the car into thinking my phone is plugged in like an ipod. It works great for Bluetooth music

 

was easy for my 2010 c300. Removed the iphone jack and exposed the aux input. Plugged a bluetooth adapter like this https://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-blu...FRGHswodbTQDxA

and then connected my phone to the benz and then to the bluetooth. Then chose aux as the play option in the car, and then boom. Easy Not sure if 2009 is dff

 

I need something like that since all I have is the 1/8" aux jack in the glove box. I'll look for a better quality one as those reviews don't look very promising.

2011 C300 with DVD/NAV package.

I have cables in my glove box that I attached an iPod adapter to. See pic below.

I connect it to my iPhone and it plays all my iTunes tracks. Once I get a new iphone, my current iphone will be left in the glove box. You can also buy a used iPod on ebay, load it up with music, podcasts, etc. and keep it plugged in permanently.

the nav screen can read all the playlists and tracks, so you can navigate through your music with the onboard screen and console knob.

 

I'm curious how you are providing power to this. I have the AUX 3.5mm socket in my glovebox of my 2009 C350 and I can plugin my phone to an AUX cable and play audio through it. But I'd far prefer to avoid a cable and do this with BT. The issue, however, is that I would still need to provide power to the unit in the glovebox. I don't want to run an ugly USB cable from my cig lighter into the glovebox to power it.

What is the best way to get this to work and look decent, and provide continual power so that it just works without ugly cables?

Problem solved, i managed to come across a bluetooth aux plug in for 12 USD instead of the 50 to 80 USD that i saw on other intl sites chinese but works the same if not better

 

Does this unit accept power from the glovebox outlets? If so, do you have a URL to the unit to purchase? I'd like to give it a try as well.

I use the Bovee 1000.

It is a bluetooth adapter you plug into the 30 pin iPod cable in the glove compartment. Your phone will then make 2 bluetooth connections to your car, one to MB Bluetooth for the telephone and the other to BOVEE1000 for music, podcasts, car navigation, etc.

The car will pause streaming music when a call comes in. The steering wheel controls work as well.

You can press the "End Call" button on the steering wheel when the small dash board display is on "audio" to get to the playlists on your device. then you can use your "arrow" and "ok" and "back" steering wheel buttons to select songs and playlists.

Can you explain the phone connection in detail? I have an 08 S550 and brought the Bovee. I can play music but can't stay connected to it when I make or receive calls. I have the phone connected to command but I didn't have the original puck and I don't see the car in my Bluetooth list.
