What kind of mileage do you typically get per tank?

The EPA rating on my C300 is pretty close to what my old car was but I seem to be getting more miles already than I am used too... if the gas indicator is accurate I am getting almost 100 miles per quarter tank, and with a smaller gas tank than my old car.

What is your per tank mileage like?

Last tank I got 538KM when the light came on.

I'll add my best has been 750KM all highway driving london -Mississauga pit stop on lakeshore- Ottawa.

Pretty good on gas for a 4Matic

Only on my second tank since I picked up my 2014 C300 Sport and I'm average right at 28 MPG. That's better than I was getting on my 07 C230.

Wow, I'm 26.5 average for my last 8,000 miles in a C250. But that is good enough to get me around 450 miles. On long highways trips in ideal conditions (light load, flat roads, no traffic, no stopping, no speeding) I've done up to 36 MPG.

I'm still in denial about the low gas milage I'm getting. About 20MPG on average, driving mostly in the city, stop and go, only occasionally some longer highway trips.

Before that I had a VW Passat TDI (diesel), it averaged 44MPG in the same conditions. Then I got hit by the VW cheat scandal and they bought my car back, the money from that got me my current C300.

I'm catching myself ever so often comparing these two cars. Obviously they have a very different brand recognition, but still, the Passat was VERY roomy, it had full voice control for phone, media and navigation, with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, had great MPG – and a torque from the 2l diesel engine that was almost comparable to my V6 that takes twice as much fuel.

Oh my ... I know ... I should forget the past and enjoy the present.

I had a VW GLI. It is surprising how good that car had been to me. It's the only car I've owned that I missed.

C250 Coupe. My best three tanks validate M71's (Bold/Underlined) above....................

34.9, 36.3 AND 36.5. All highway. All relaxed. First was in California. Second and third were in Arizona (better fuel).....................

Average - per Fuelly.com - for 9160 miles is 28.7

all the best, ez

My 2011 C300 drives mostly on highway, about 230 miles round trip. The highest MPG I have achieved couple of times is 32 MPG, with no rush, about 70-75 MPH, some load, two people in the car. If I drive at a bit higher speed and often speed up to pass other cars, it can go down to 27 MPG.

Mileage highly depends on your style of driving. The THING I do love about Geman engineering is the fact that they DO NOT LIE about how much gas you have in the tank (compared to Acura/Lexus from personal experience). The W204 holds roughly 17.2 gallons of gas and there are 16 ticks on the gas gauge that represents 1 gallon each. When empty, you have roughly 1 gallon of gas left, where the remaining .2 I'm assuming is what's left in the fuel lines.

With that said, its very common to get an average of 25 miles per gallon with mixed driving, which means 400 miles per tank if you fill @ empty with 1 gallon remaining.

FWIW, I did my own extensive testing for the first 2 years of ownership and have now accumulated 80k miles on my C350 and I'm still getting consistent results.

P.S.
According to my fuelly records, in my first 2 years of ownership I logged in 25,327 miles of which my overall average MPG is 25.8, and the best tank MPG is 28.26. The most gallons I've filled without running out of gas (and yes, I have ran out of gas testing the limits) is 16.489 gallons. The most miles I recorded without running out of gas is 446.50 miles where I used 16.071 gallons (27.78 tank MPG with an average speed of 48 MPH back in 2/22/14).

Call me crazy, but I finally stopped recording after tank #65 so I can start having fun.

C180 Kompressor (2008)
I usually average 7.6 l/100km, which would be 31 mpg.

The best I've gotten is 6.8 l/100km, that's 34.5 mpg. That was with almost no city driving.

I'm driving a 2008 C180 Kompressor. My first Benz. Very satisfied with it, coming from a 2004 Volvo V40 2.0T.

Last weekend I did a 630 mile round trip across the hills and dales of Pennsylvania, the cruise control was at 80 miles per hour on the highway, then there were about 80 miles of country roads to my final destination .

I had strong tail wind going there and averaged 30.2 MPG, at an average speed of 64 miles per hour. That was the best MPG I've had so far with this car.

On the way back I had stiff headwind and averaged 28.3MPG, at an average speed of 63 mile per hour.

The ride was very pleasant and relaxed. But I'm not impressed with the fuel economy, not for a rather small 2014 car.

I dont understand why you are not impressed with the fuel economy. the 2014 c300 sport 4matic is rated as 20 City and 27 Highway.. and yours was much higher than that for the 3.5 litre V6 engine... i dont think we can expect to get the fuel economy of a prius or civic. Just a thought.

I get an average of around 300-350 miles per tank mostly city driving with frequent stops and average speed of around 15-20 mph.

Recently on a round trip from Boston to Quebec city. I got an average of 28.6 mpg with average speed of 72 mph.

You guys are doing it all wrong.

Diesel obviously yields better fuel mileage. I'm fairly certain this is a fact that we can all agree on.

So just fill your cars with diesel. #instawin....

Do you know at what gallon the light comes on? Seems to be like half way through the last quarter tank. So maybe at 2-3 gallons left? So lets say it comes on once 15 gallons have been used.. I drove 325 miles at that point.. so I was getting about 21-22 mpg. Not the best, but not the worst.

I don't know how you get 450 miles! Thats crazy.. all highway?

90% highway. Time to fill up again. The light came on at 430 this time. I'm currently at 455 and could go another 30 miles, I bet. Should I go for it? lol
