Confused about my cars navigation...

2014 C300

Confused about my cars navigation...

The dealer said my car has no navigation... the description says its 'pre-wired for navigation' for something...

However, if I go into the Nav menu and enter an address it works. Am I missing something here?

Sounds like you have nav. Look in the glove box. Is there a module that you can remove? If so that's the nav module.

If it was "pre-wired" that means you can add it. There is a slot in the glovebox to install a Becker Nav Module. The module costs around $600.

How would I know? It wasn't listed in the cars specs either.

I think the an Audio-20 has the wiring for a nav. The Comand system has navigation built in to the HU.

So I have a box in my glove compartment. I guess it does have GPS... maybe the prior owner added it in but the VIN doesn't show it as being equipped so they never knew.

That's lucky for you. If the dealer knew that the car had nav before they sold it to you, the dealer probably would've charged you more.

Usually non-VIN upgrades don't impact prices much if at all. Especially on trade in values.
