C350 7G TRANSMISSION
So I recently just test drive my friend’s 2014 e350 cabriolet, and let me tell ya, the transmission shifts so much faster than my 2014 C350 coupe... It has the full manual mode with paddles while mine has the AMG package with paddles but no manual mode. Doesn’t the e class and c class carry the same engine and tranny? If so would I be able to tune mine to match the e class’s tranny? Thanks!!

Unfortunately the only other W204s I've driven are C250 loaners or pre-LCI 300's (7G, not 7G+), all of which do not have the dynamic handling package hence no "M" mode. As for the speed of shifting, I honestly cannot relate to the complaints I've read, as I feel it shifts perfectly and on point. I also have an ECU tune so that muddies up the water even more.
yes, I saw that post made a while ago, still trying to locate a STAR diagnostic tool that I can burrow. In the meantime I was wondering if the manual mode will actually increase upshift/downshift speed in addition to giving full control? The e350 has manual mode, but the shifting speed was noticeably faster as well. To my knowledge they use the exact same tranny and engine, so maybe a software tune is holding back the tranny on the C class?

Your car's transmission model is 722.960 and the E's model is 722.906 so they have some variations, but I am not sure if these variations are enough to differentiate the shifting times if both were to run in Manual mode. The only way for you to know is to have the transmission programmed with Manual mode.

In comfort the car really drives soft which I was hoping for, but nobody was sure about.
With Manual mode you see the gear number in speedo apprears.
