From everything I read, the tire size on a 2008 C300 Sport is P225/45R17 front, P245/40R17 rear, as shown here.

However, my 2008 C300 has 225/40 ZR18 and 255/35 ZR18 as original tires. So what's really going on here? I am confused.

The car originally came with the optional 18" wheels. 17" wheels are standard. Not unusual.

Didn't know there was an option to go 18". I read the 2008 brochure didn't find that as an option.

^ This. My sister in-law had one with the 18s when we purchased it new. FYI...not everything that is offered may show up in a brochure. The options given to me when I factory ordered my current car is an example of that.

Aside from your C300 being one version of what was offered when it was originally sold, what alternatives are there?

Could be a stolen, junk yard car. I don't know.

The seller wouldn't provide the title so you know the mess I am in.

Btw, looking at the picture below, can you determine whether the car has side airbag? I took the rear door panel off and thought the airbag box is much smaller than I expected.
