Hard Crank only first start of the day!!!

so i bit the bullet and bought a new battery $280 since the voltage was on the lower end. I unfortunately am chasing a problem I'm still having an issue only with the first crank of the day.

My next guess would be the fuel filter.... the manual says change it at 240,000KM I'm at 140,000KM so I'm going to do this anyways and see what up.

has anyone else had this issue?? what was the fix!!!

I have ZERO codes on the car, or hidden codes.

so I'm just left guessing! what could it be?

Crankshaft Positioning Sensor?
MAF?
Fuel Filter?

I wish a damn code would just pop up!

Is it a slow crank, or just a lot of cranking before it finally starts?

so Id say a lot of cranking then it catches. it's defiantly not normal and I'm stuck because theres no codes.

well I need to hold the key for about 10 seconds to the on position white the car keeps trying to start. It's only the first start of the day every day which is weird. even if i drive the car to work, work 8 hours and get in it starts fine but if i leave it over night then start it it happens again.

I just changed the battery, the alternator is running perfectly.

I've owned a car where one (or more?) of the fuel injectors were leaking down over night, and the pressure had to build, hence the long-crank. The only time it long-cranked was the first thing in the morning, or if it had been sitting for a while. Problem was fixed by replacing all of the injectors (you could perhaps find the offending injector(s), and just replace the defective one(s). They're not too expensive though, so I just replaced all eight of them.

**** that seems like a ***** of a job hahaha. did you ever end up getting a code on a scanner? how did you narrow it down to the fuel injectors?

It wan't too difficult at all, just a few bolts to remove the fuel rails, and a clipped-on pair of wires on each injector. I used a bit of white grease on the O-rings to aid installation of the new injectors.

The car showed no codes, and I suspected the injectors based on that, plus others in the forum having similar issues.

ill update this, i need an oil change in the next 1000km so i went to get an oil filter from a local supplier and they carry liqui molly. they had a bunch of fuel additives there and one can was called pro line fuel system cleaner concentrate. they had a rep there and said give this a shot one can should do the trick.

they apparently sell it to the local MB dealership and before they change injectors they some times try this. he said run it in the car for a tank of gas once its done fill up the gas run it 50KM then do an oil change and your injectors should be cleaned as well as the entire fuel system.

It was $12 figured it was worth a shot since injectors are $65 each....
