2008 C300 Coolant Temp Sensor Location?

Hi All,

Was watching this video for replacing coolant temp sensor. But since mine is C300 I don't think this video applies.

I assume the sensor would be connected to the thermostat instead which is in the front of the engine. Can someone confirm this is where the sensor is at?

Btw, is this be the right part for my car (WDDGF54X68R016430)? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...sor-0041539728

Engine temp gauges started jumping up and down 3 days ago and AC just quitted blowing cold air this morning.

Update 08/29/2018:

Okay I can see why there has been so little info on where the sensor is located....it's next to IMPOSSIBLE to get a good look at that area.

To contribute to MBWorld, I've posted a video on how to locate it. At the end of video, the black sensor held by a silver ring plate (behind another wire) with a torx screw is where the sensor is located. Hope this help everyone in your future endeavor!

FCP Euro is great, i've bought from them many times. I'll try to look up a diagram with the sensor location

Marked up a quick photo. I assume the Coolant Temperature Sensor is at the red circle not orange, right?

Or could it still be at the front of the engine nearby the thermostat?

There’s a walk through to replace the sensor. All I can suggest is a 1/4 ratchet with the torx bit, a mirror(preferably one on an extension), a cover over the fender and some patience.

Sorry I don't have the video anymore. But it turned out it wasn't the sensor but rather the radiator fan. So you want to make sure it's not anything else before replacing the sensor.

I would suggest to watch the video linked in my original post. Your enemy is not the stuff on top...your enemy is the space between the engine block and the firewall. You need a very small wrench. It's waaaaaaay down there. To identify, it has a small metal plate holding it in place, make sure you are not working on other part near it.

Be patient if you decide to do this. Good luck!
