Driver underside plastic cover. What's the correct install supposed to look like?
Well, I noticed that every time I pull the red latch to release the front hood, the underside plastic moves down with the pull-down too. So there is something not quite right, I think the previous owner may have messed up something. Anyway, I took a picture and wonder if the plastic 90 degree corner should have be tucked inside the floor lining instead? It's just hanging there with no obvious support. If you could take a couple of pictures of the same area that would be a big help. Thanks.
Should the plastic corner be tucked inside the floor lining?

There should be a Phillips head screw under the red handle that you pull down to release the hood. That might be your issue there.
If not, this DIY https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...eplacement.htm (or others you might find on that website) might provide you with some helpful images.

Thanks for confirming.
I feel like there is still something wrong with the fit. For instance, the grey foam strip at the bottom of brake-light-switch cover is showing through on mine (see pic above) whereas on the Pelican Parts site no foam is visible.

So I just want to come back to this thread and provide answer to my own question in case someone ever has the same question as I did.
So yes, there is a Philips head screw under the red hood latch handle. However, it just holds the latch module in place with the underside plastic piece. It was my entire underside plastic piece moving down with the pull-down motion of the latch, not just the module, so it couldn't have been just that.
There is, however, a metal retainer on the underside plastic piece (to the left side of the latch) that went missing from my car. See attached. Without that metal retainer the entire plastic piece moves with the pull-down motion. Mystery solved.

I think the fact that we might use different references for different parts, it makes it difficult for others to hone in on what we are talking about... (Although that part is not what a "tongue and groove" represents, I would have called that a "tongue and groove"!

After some further investigation, I found that there is no such metal retainer as I first thought (see deep blue circle) because the pic from PelicanParts doesn't have either.
Now I wonder if the two hooks (light blue circles) actually hook on something? Or only rest on top of other parts?
