Built my own short ram intake
Whats up guys i built my own short ram for the 276 engine on my 2014 c300. Part number for K&N filter i used is RG1001RD. I used a 3 inch diameter pipe about 6 inches long a put an elbow bend so its away from engine and propes in the original air inlet. I bored a hole in the pipe for the sensor and built a flange to secure the intake so it doesnt move. It sounds very very good and engine bay looks good without the big air filter casing. Here are some pics.

1. Gotta give props for trying this out!
2. Did you do any R&D? How will that small pipe and the large to small to large opening affect the air velocity?
3. Have you done any dyno testing before and after?
4. Planning on any shielding to prevent heat soak?
I can appreciate the effort but in all honesty, you’ve probably robbed yourself of a few HPs/TQ and have started to mod your car like it’s a Civic.

Case in point, the 2006 Nissan 350z OEM airbox.
Everyone was installing CAI’s/short rams and then people actually dynoed the results and it was proven over and over that the 2006 OEM air box with the upgraded Venturi ring was the best air intake you could put on a 03-06 350z.

Havent done dyno testing i needed to replace my air filter so wanted to try this out, ive had this car for years and wanted to try something different and love projects, nothing is permanent just giving it a shot and only cost me 30 bucks. I havent seen anybody try it on here except one person and the dyno testing showed minimul but positive results. Probably going to put heatshield on next. I already have the kleeman ecu tune to produce better then the c350 in horsepower and torque. And it doesnt sound like a civic trust me if it did i would of took it right off, no ricer sound what so ever. Good question on the large to small opening on the air velocity i was wondering samething but i have no idea

You lost me there. How does modifying his car like this make it seem like it's a different brand and model of car?
Not even a little bit.
