Shopping for 2012 -2014 C300 sport M272 vs M276?
The second piece of information came from my friend who's a master technician at the local MB dealership. He was fixing a lot of M276 engines, suffering from the problems I stated, on 2013 and 14 W204s than he was on 2012 M272 W204s which were super reliable by then.
The third piece of information is that I found my car with 5,900 miles only so I wasn't going to pass on that.
I know the M276 became more reliable later on and is a more powerful engine and all that, but given the above, I think I was pretty objective in my decision relative to my needs.

I have a log and receipts for absolutely everything since new right down to every time I have filled up with gasoline (Chevron 94 Supreme Plus, always!) and strictly by the numbers it has been the least expensive Mercedes-Benz I have owned on a per-kilometers-driven basis by a large margin.
For reference I have owned over 30 MB's spanning the model years 1970 - 2012 and currently own an 1989 560SEC AMG and a 2006 CLS 500.
I had no issues with the M272 cars I owned, either. Those seemed like fine engines at the time.. but the M276 was a large step up.
