I was at a complete stop on the interstate in construction and was rear ended by a new driver in a ford suv. She hit me going around 40 we think. She was texting and said she tried to stop but wasn’t able to in time. She ended up hitting me twice. Since she bounced off and hit again. Trunk doesn’t close. No airbags deployed. Headrests deployed but that’s an easy fix.
it has 96000 miles on it. I just bought it so I was so upset but she was just a kid. They have progressive insurance.
Wow, car seems to have held up pretty well for a 40mph hit from an SUV. Glad everyone's ok! Lot's of nice C's out there if you decide to get another one.
I suggest you post this in the thread for the W204 c class which is the correct thread for your c class. This thread is for the next generation W206 c class that hasn't gone on sale yet. Sorry for your accident and glad no one was hurt. I agree with the other posters that your c class may be totaled. I would suggest you put it up on a lift to see if the frame is bent and what additional structural damage has been done underneath..
A beautiful car going to waste because “She was texting.....” while driving.
There is no reason to feel any kind of pity for that “lady” at all.
Get yourself lawyered up in order to get as much as possible from either her insurance or from her.
I hope you’ll either manage to get your car fixed or that you’ll find another equally beautiful C-Class.
If one of my kids did that they would lose any and all driving privileges permenantly until they got their own car and insurance. Too many people die because of that stupid behavior, I know one woman was doing that and ran head on with a Escalade, she was in a Honda Accord. Word was she was “not complete”... left behind 2 kids and husband. Don’t text and drive should never be understated. Ok, my rant is over...
Well said Just204. Texting while driving is against the law in most states for good reasons. I also agree with Joe 1959. I would look into a lawsuit to sue for the cost of a brand new C class in response to the irresponsible texting while driving driver who caused the accident. Grateful no one was injured in this incident but too many innocent people have been killed because of this.
Get your insurance settlement and buy it back from the insurance company
If you really like the vehicle and the damage isn't bad enough to warrant a total, fix it and carry on! I had a Jaguar and in the same situation, bought it back from the insurance company, fixed it and used it for another 3 years without issue. Sorry to hear of your loss and glad to know no one was injured.
