10 point 12mm bit?

I am searching for a 10pt. 12mm socket bit (male piece not female piece) I need to separate my front calipers. There are 4 bolts that hold the assembly together on the inboard side with what looks similar to a triple square bolt head but only has 10 points of contact as opposed to 12. I used my calipers (measuring tool, not the brake component) and it measures 12mm from point to point. I googled 10pt. 12mm bit and found the CTA Tools "10 point tuner lug nut socket" it is the right shape but but about 2mm too big. Anyone have any suggestions?

10pt 12mm Bit

I have the same caliper on my C300 and went through the same search last year when I rebuilt them. Long story short, searched everywhere and couldn't find them. I ended up sandblasting and painting them without disassembling...

Yep, pretty much the same thing my OCD brain said too.

I tried about 4 different tuner lug bits, all too big as you found. Looked on a bunch of tool manufacturers product lists and talked to senior mechanics at local MB dealer with no luck. I even called a few machine shops for a custom made bit. The one I found that would even entertain the job needed an Autocad type drawing and a couple hundred dollars for 2 prototypes.

My rational side finally had to beat my OCD into submission.....

That was one of the few roadblocks I ran into when almost completely mechanically rebuilding my daughters 2009 C300 4Matic. If there is any other help or advice you need let me know

Ha! I followed the same path you did. This is a reman from centric I got from rockauto. I got all 4, painted them and ceramic coated them, and then installed them on a complete overhaul (minus the hard lines) Went to bleed the system and the front right just started dumping fluid. They didn't machine the brake line port and the hole is oblong. I have a new one on the way and was hoping to split them open and just swap the carrier(?) parts. I tried a 10mm hex bc it fit pretty snug but that didn't even come close to working. It sucks because it's going to cost me an additional 2 days beyond the 4 I've already had to wait to paint and coat the new one. Sometimes I hate MB, and it's bc of stuff like this.

I have had great success with helicoil thread repair kits like this:
