hello guys i have a 2012 c300 4matic i changed rims to aftermarket replica 18x8.5 40mm offset and i m running 225/45/18 front and rear same specs. Car had 17 before what i notice in the front when i do full turn tires rub even with a 5 mm spacer. Where o got the rims i asked to change them and said if i went bigger offset would not rub but i dont think it would help. So any ideas thank you guys
225/40R18 XL is the recommended size tire with the original equipment 18 inch wheels. 225/45R18 tires are 11-12 millimeters taller. You may have to change to the tires.
Why are you running 5mm spacers? And why are you running the wrong size tires?
i put the spacers to make tire stick out to prevent rubbing it rubs fender liner in the back and front only. When i changed the rims the shop i went too thats what they put than i changed brand and but i tested 225/40/18 on right side it still rub car was hit on that side

i tried 225/40/18 and still rub on the side the car was hit, rubs fender liner in the back. And it looked to small and seemed little ugly with 225/40/18

Something in the collision must have caused the structure of the car to be out of spec. A good body and frame repair facility can check the dimensions and may be able to restore them to original. Otherwise, correcting the rubbing is just guessing. BTW - using spacers can be dangerous. 5mm spacers are very large and if the wheel mounting bolts are not lengthened by the same amount, there may insufficient depth of penetration into the hub.

i took spacers out today and that might be the reason on one side but the 40 looked little to small. Also can u run staggered on a 2012 c300 4matic luxury maybe after i fix that i try 225/40/18 front and keep 225//45/18 the back
