I heard rumour that the coupe is gone from the US in 2006. Has this been confirmed ? Apparently no plan has been announced in Canada yet and the dealers think it will still be imported to Canada for a few years.

I heard that as well, and it was from a pretty good source. I was installing the aux in my car, and a gentleman was walking his dog and asked me how I liked my car. We got to talking, and he said that he worked for MB as the person who checked the cars when they got off of the port. He worked for MB in "Watson". He told me that he heard at a meeting that the coupe was supposed to be discontinued as of next year.
Eh, I digress... My post was kinda lame, sorry.

That is fine. But, if there was no MY '05 C Coupe my butt would have instead been planted into an Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe.

My examination of the other offerings from MB show none compatible with my requirements.

One of my problems is that I am not attracive enough to drive a convertible.

i think its true. i was reading an issue of road&track or car&driver the other day, the one where they run thru new cars, changes etc for each manufacturer.
Under M/B, listed as GONE is the C230K, i know its not the C230K SS so it must be the coupe. bummer.

Only in the US though! Coupes will still be made for everywhere else so we can all blame MBUSA for this. Also the C230K is supposed to be replaced with a C230 NA motor, 200Hp V-6 at 2.3L.

probably because the US has this stigma about "hatchbacks". whatever though, i know im keeping my coupe for a long time. too many mods just to let it go.

I don't think so. I think that MB has learned its lesson about trying to sell a hatchback in America.

thats why i said ever. i dont think there will be a US bound hatchback either. i could see W204 everywhere else, but here, probably not.

I would love to see the numbers for the USA, since I see more C-Coupes in my area than C320 sedans! Also saw more coupes on my ride home from Atlantic City than I did any other of the same model Benz's. I did get to see a sweet *** CL55 though in Philly. I saw 3 coupes just on the 2.5 hour ride home. I see more C-Coupes than I do 3 series coupes in my area as well. And we have a ton of BMW 3 series around. I just don't see MBUSA's logic in replacin the C-Coupe with a FWD B-Class!

Well i guess we can look at it as our coupes will be one of a kind in the usa, even though i had my heart set on a w204 coupe i dont think i want a sedan

The analogy between the C-Coupe and the 318ti is correct. The coupes are not selling, and they will be gone next summer. We won't see the W204 coupes here. What a pity! From what I've seen they look great!!

The w204 coupe looks great! I'm a bigger fan of that than the w204 sedan. BUT, I really want to see a w204 convertible! If they make an AMG version of the w204 convertible, hopefully in 2008 I'll be all up on that!

Either way, we won't see any W204s until some time in 2007 on this side of the pond. So let's enjoy what we have in the meantime

The W204 is a nice looking vehicle. I like the dual exhaust. The center armrest is kinda unusual.

I really want a C-coupe before they stop importing them. Are you sure they are getting rid of the c-coupe here? I wanted a 2006 model, but I guess I will have to go with a 2005?
