i have a Canadian 2010 c250 4matic, that the ecm got wet and the board is badly corroded
i have been googling the part number 2721532192 and have found a couple of used ones on ebay.
however, google also suggests that part 2721532191 for the c300 is compatible as well
can anyone confirm if this is possible?
there are hundreds more of the c300 version available
we are wintering in florida and i have found a number of the c300 ecm's within driving distance
can anyone recommend a shop near Tampa to get it programmed
i am leery about getting a used ecm... so i checked with dealer about price on a new one, they said that the correct part # for my car is the 2721532191.
but the unit i have from the car is the 192 version. they are not sure why. i have a feeling the person i spoke to has no idea
i hate to write off a car we really like
my gut says try a used 191 version, i have found couple for less than $200 as opposed to the $2000 they want for a new one

With your ecm does it still work, just wondering it there is a way of cleaning the board/corrosion and then respray the surface with lacquer this is what is usually sprayed on to protect the circuit board from atmospheric damage.
Could you post up a photo if you are not sure of so we can have a look and possibly come up with a repair.

From your photo it is hard to see really good detail of the ic chip on the r/h side, for what you can see does not look the best the rest of the white stuff will clean off.
A tooth brush can be used for cleaning along with come contact cleaner.
At this stage you have nothing to loose form spending some time cleaning it up and through assessment with photo.
Prior to removal was the car running and no warning lights on the dash?
If it was not running or had faults move straight to replacement.
