2002 C230 Coupe(M111)
Hahahhahha....my oh my, is that one ugly ***.
All you coupe naysayers who didn't like the Coupe tail, bend over. MB is sending your new sedan up, with sand.
Kia and Toyota did the rear, Acura, er, the snobby folks at Honda did the nose, and well, it looks like BMW and Pontiac messed up the interior.
Damn that's nasty.

Wow, surprised at the reaction.
Personally, I think it looks great. I like the headlights. The line going across the side merging right into the top of the light is great. I like it...a very smooth classy transition.
Side mirrors are the only thing that concern me....they just don't flow with the rest of the car.
As a first time buyer, I'm excited. I can understand why current C class owners would not be fans of this since it is a relatively drastic change from their models, but I really like it.

I don't believe that the tail lights will look like those in the pilot plant production version. The upper part of the tail light should come up to the top, not cut off as shown. It's possible that since those cars will be on the road they want to hold something back for the final version.
I'm leaning towards this is how it will be in March.
In general, I think they are looking for a change...making it look different from previous models. Believe it or not, reminds me of the Dodge Caravan change over a couple of years back...they changed the back by flipping the lights to make it look different.

They are there so that leaves will go through them and collect in some unreachable place under the hood.

MB's look the best with a sporty and aggressive deisgn so I think the W204 will probably look good with the AMG body kit - but my guess is that it will be pretty pricey to get that kind of setup for the first few years...

Let me try:
ismeto: but I did not like inside too much
Translation: But I did not really like the interior.
ismeto: What a big cool parts !
Translation: What a spacious cold interior! (maybe cool is not referring to the car being "cool" in a positive sense, but rather, that it looks cold an uninviting?)
ismeto: this is car or refrigerator
Translation: Is this a car or a refrigerator?
ismeto: beriefly ugly
Translation: Umm.. this car is ugly for a short period of time?
ismeto: I do not think so inside like this , I hope
Translation: I did not expect the interior to be like this, at least I had hoped it would not be like this.

Honestly, the way the body stylings look on the w203, I'll probably save up a good amount of money and do an engine swap before buying a w204. I think some portions of it look like a VW Jetta.

It was confirmed today on jesmb that the rear head restraints will no longer be retractable. Now, what do I do? This must be another one of the many costy reductions!!!!!!!!!

Waiting for W204 Facelift

I dunno. Although it does appear to be an artist rendering, It might not be so bad. It seems to have a more true Coupe look, instead of a Chopped-off Sedan look. Once again, let's wait to see the iron on the ground before passing final judgement.

On one hand I don't like it at all.... But on the other, I think I just like the W203 too much. The W203 actually looked better in every year. I mean the first one was great – the 2004 (or 2005) when the first added the AMG Body Kit looked amazing, and the latest 2007 with the AMG Body Kit and dual exhaust, black interior, looks even more amazing… It’s hard to imagine something better.
It’s funny, a lot of times when Mercedes changes a model my first reaction is disappointment. I’d be like: what the hell were they thinking!! Don’t they get people’s impressions before releasing it?? Do these people know how to design a car?? Are these people stupid the car looks like a Honda, or Cadillac, or this or that... But then I realized something -- what am I thinking -- these people are professionals who study this for a living, this is their job – and in most cases, these are the same people who’ve brought us the E’s, SL’s, S-Class, and yes, the W203.
Slowly but surely I start to love the new designs – it’s modern for the times but classic to last a lifetime, I mean surely we can agree that in the year 2020 the W203 won’t look all thaaat good anymore.
Let me draw a case of first impressions: the new S-Class. I mean the old 2006 S-Class was soooo beautiful - especially the ones with the AMG body kit, they looked so amazing and I was thinking to myself, why change that! That looks hot! At first I resisted the new one – I thought it’s too soon, give this shape one more year – or give me 4 more years so I can afford one before you oust it. But slowly and surely the new one came and after seeing it, I didn’t just accept it, I loved it. It’s beautiful, it’s modern, it’s classy, and it’s techie… hey! It’s an S-Class. And I felt the same with the BMW 7-Series, 5-Series and 3-Series.
So it’s funny, while we’re sitting here trashing the car (me included; although we’re not trashing it – just giving our first impressions) – I wonder whether if we went back to the old posts in the W202 Forum whether they were once trashing the W203… It’s funny like that, but 1 thing I can assure you folks, who like me have trouble accepting the new controversial designs, Mercedes-Benz have always produced brilliant cars and they never mess up.
So on that note – it’s just a matter of time before we all start listing our cars in the classifieds section or run to the dealerships trying to trade our outdated W203’s in.
Just one point of view.
