Yaw rate sensor (lateral acceleration)

Hey... does anyone knows where the yaw rate sensor is located on a 2014 W204 c250 sedan. I tried looking under both front seats and is not there. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you having a problem with the sensor? Why do you want to locate it?

Listing your vin or your specific submodel would be helpful.

Another place to look is under the center console.

You’re sure it’s not under the seat?

I'm positive, the yaw sensor is not under either of the seats.

Need to change it because it throwing erratic values and my ESP is inoperative. I got the sensor but have not been able to l9cate it.

Could you provide a little more specifics? What "erratic values"? There's lots of things that can cause the ESP to be inoperative.

Have you pulled the carpet and looked under it?

Standing still it shows vslues from 0 to 25 m/s which looks to be the max. All other esp related sensors are working fine.

I did pull the carpets and no luck. I did found the studs where the sensor should be installed probably in an earlier model and no plugs either.

Have you actually scanned for codes? You'll need a Mercedes-specific scanner and not some generic OBD scanner.

When searching around for this issue, about people not being able to locate the yaw sensor under the seat, I see some people claim they did not come with one. i dont know how true that is but you dont seem the be the only person who couldnt find it in a W204. I dont even know if mine has one since I never looked.

Does the vehicle in question have ESP (stability control)? Was it standard or optional for OP’s model year?

No ESP = no yaw rate sensor

My W204 manual says that it should be a "triaxial accelerometer" that senses roll, turning, and acceleration rather than separate sensors like in previous models. Unfortunately it doesn't give the exact location, just a diagram of sensors that show it's inside the passenger compartment. It treats it like it's in all versions. The only way that multiple warning lights would not be displayed with it missing is if the car was in DYNO Mode or it was coded out in the engineering menu. Maybe exact location is in the W204 WIS?
