I went back to MB dealer and spoke with a service tech about the heat exchanger lid, coil and washer reservoir. All he would/could say was that it is supposed to snap on and that it was difficult and had to wrestle with it. Not the information I was hoping for!

washer pump hose connection

I have the same problem. I assume when you say you removed the clip, that you cut it off. When you attached the hose alone did you clamp it? Does the inside diameter of the hose match up with the pump tip? Thanks for your help.
