They fully refunded the PPM on my old car, so that took care of the downpayment.

Linden trim
Premium
Parktronic
Keyless-Go
Blind spot assist
Wheel locks
Here's probably the best discount I was offered, but it had too many "don't need" features and missed important one that my partner wanted:
MSRP: $50,470
Final: $43,799
Upfront: $1,000
Monthly (36/10): $494.41 incl. tax
This was their initial offer, so I'm sure that could have come down further.

We were also asked not to reveal the discount price on my wife's 2016 C300. I think we got a similar deal as yours, but our car was off the lot, so your deal is that much more impressive!

Indeed, knowledge IS power, but there are some market and vendor absolutes the generally come into play..
for example, when 2015's are still available in this example, dealers are told not to heavily discount 2016's till they are out of inventory on the 15's.. and that usually applies to a market/region.
There are usually discount floors that don't get broken or rarely.. an employee discount threshold is usually one of them. We all know what "dealer invoice" really means, but there isn't usually a lot of additional meat on the bone after a couple % points. Unless there are either market, manufacturer or dealer primary incentives..have to hit numbers, have to move product, have to keep factory humming, have to compete with direct competitors discounts (like a BMW, AUDI, LEXUS) in the market, etc.
Still, those are SOLID SOLID numbers to hit regardless.
