There is a lot to be said for buying/owning locally but I also get the idea of saving another 1-2k.

I negotiated exclusively with the dealer that was closest to my office for the convenience factor of when the car requires service...of course I was shopping other brands and pitted them against each other to get the best price that I could but at the end of the day I value building a relationship. Besides, it sure is nice to have someone to yell at face to face when something goes wrong

I test drove a C300 and C400 last night (Philadelphia region). MSRP on a 400 (like the engine better) with options (incl destination) was $53,775. I was offered, to start, $2,000 off MSRP, so slightly less than 4%. I also have a USAA cash incentive. I'm still negotiating and looking to get at least another $2,000 reduction from dealer which gives me about a 7.5% discount, then apply my USAA incentive (another $2,000) to arrive at a 12% total reduction.

If you guys need a good price, I have a gal at W.I. Simonson who can give you $7k off your C400. I used that to pricematch with Beverly Hills and I ended up getting a $60975 C400 for $53375

Just took delivery of my C300. MSRP of $47,115 --> $41,900. Discount of 11.07%. No trade, no financing, no lease.

Couldn't have done it without the information on this forum. Thanks to all who shared!

Available at dealer.

Ordered should be about $1000 less in discount (or the respective %)

USAA (insurance company available to veterans and their families) gives its members cash incentives on Mercedes Benz products (as well as many other manufacturers). For the C Class, it is $2,000 to apply toward purchase price.

As a follow up, I ended up negotiating down from $53,775 to $49,225 and then applied the USAA discount for a nearly 13% discount. Again, thanks to all for their input!

I got around 10% off in NJ, took me 5 hours at the dealership, but worth it.
Will post exact details shortly.

Thought you guys would like to see the straight up offer I got from Rusnak in Arcadia, CA. I ended up getting a better deal with my guy at BH but feel free to use this as a reference.

MSRP: $60,375.00
Discount: $6,957.00
Sales Price: $53,418.00
Savings: 11.52%

Image/Invoice removed per the request of the sales rep at Rusnak. What a bait and switch.

True car is AWFUL at pricing in California. You can cold call any California dealer and get at least $3k off of MSRP as their opening offer. Most will at least offer invoice price (and hope to pocket the $3k dealer cash).

This. When I got my C250, I was offered a way better price without even having to step foot in a dealership than what TrueCar listed. I'm not sure where they're getting their data from, but it's totally useless in the LA area (at least as far as MBs are concerned).

And save yourself $ if you're going to use the CR "real price" info b/c they get it directly from True Car. =P

That's a lovely price, could you provide the contact name in the dealership?

WOW Mercedes really priced this car too high, discounts aplenty for a brand new Mercedes-Benz. I suspect we'll see a C250 again to bring the prices down in a few years. A 60K C400 for 53K, that is really something for me to think about.

Yep. I took delivery last night of a c400 and because they had one on the lot that had everything I wanted, but also had the Multimedia Option, they gave it to me for the same price of my original choice. So, in the end, I got a car with a MSRP of $55,000 for $48,000. That included my USAA discount, so I could have possibly done even better, but I was pretty satisfied with a 13% discount.

My sense is that (a) people don't really know about the new C class yet, and (b) those that do, have a tough time figuring out where it fits in the new hierarchy of MB, and so the dealers are going to have to offer attractive deals to get the ball rolling. In other words, it's a good time to get one!

I agree. Unheard of on a brand new Benz. I bet they'll introduce a C250 again at some point. Makes much more sense to get a C400 at that price rather than a C300 too.

All these 12-13% deals people are getting are for cars that are already built or sitting on a lot somewhere in the country. Anyone got these great deals from ordering ?

12%'er here ...dealer was more willing to discount on an order rather than an in-stock car or dealer trading. Of course I was very particular on what I wanted so I'm guessing the salesman was probably too lazy to see if he could find me the right car right now. I sure know I'd rather have my commission now than after the holidays.

Well it's good to see that folks are getting good deals...I'm expecting delivery in the next two weeks. I didn't negotiate the price of the car during ordering (August) just so I could gauge what discounts would be offered. Thanks to the info in this thread I became a USAA member for the $2k discount...and will work it from there.
