W205 Discount challenge!
Invoice on C300 in California is (MSRP - $925) * 0.93 + $925 + $740.
Subtract $3000 for the dealer cash.
Subtract 2% of MSRP for add'l discount off of holdback.
Any LA dealer should be able to get you the resulting price on C300s in stock. There are over five hundred (possibly even over a thousand) C300s sitting on dealer lots in the greater LA area - buyers have all the leverage.
Just make sure you read your final contract carefully. Digging into their holdback means dealers are pulling out all stops in adding hidden fees to scam you. Check for things like dealer added useless options like VIN etching, paint finish touchups, etc. as well as markups to F&I items like ELW or PPM (for ex. Keyes in Van Nuys adds $395 finish touchup to their cars, and I've seen them charge $2075 for a 3yr PPM with MSRP or $975). If you're leasing watch for markups to money factor (0.00166 for C300) and acquisition fee ($795, but almost all LA dealers markup to $1095).

My sense is that (a) people don't really know about the new C class yet, and (b) those that do, have a tough time figuring out where it fits in the new hierarchy of MB, and so the dealers are going to have to offer attractive deals to get the ball rolling. In other words, it's a good time to get one!
The other part of the equation was my trade in which they gave me a quote sight unseen and when I brought it in they didn't realize it had a manual transmission. They nonetheless honored their initial price even though they could have haggled me on that (plus some cosmetic damage).

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The USAA increase from $500 to $2k coincided with the introduction of $1500 dealer cash, so those in low-volume markets continue to enjoy a net $500 additional discount for using USAA, and those in high-volume markets can forgo USAA and take advantage of the $3k dealer cash (or possibly one dealer cash certificate + USAA for total of $3500, preserving the net $500 additional discount for USAA).

apparently on the BMW, the discount seems to be around 8%.
I am USAA member and the first quote was only for the $2000 discount. How are you getting more discounts?
Current C400 build price has me sitting right at $57,000
Thanks for all your inputs. Initially my dealer gave me a discount of 5%. After reading the posts here, I managed to get a discount of 11.5% on my C300. I also have the Fleet Incentive ($2000). So total discount on my C300 (11.5% + $2000) = ~ 16.5%

MSRP - $60,555 - $6655 (11%) - $2k (fleet discount) = one happy customer at $51,894 + TTL. That's 14.3% off MSRP for those keeping scores at home.
The sales rep asked me what it would take for me to get a deal done, I said 11%, quoting some posting here. I show him some of the posting and he said he'll talk to the manager. Comes back and say he can do 11% but only on in stock cars, ordered cars he couldn't. I was hesitant at first since it's not exactly want we wanted, but then he asked who my employer was. I told him and he said he'll be right back. Came back and said I have a $2k fleet discount. Would that seal the deal. At nearly $9k off, it's a pretty damn good price. Here's the thing, from my company's website and HR department, they aren't sure we have fleet discounts with MB. I've talked to 3 individuals and they couldn't find any information. But regardless, the manager told me he'll take care of it, and took care of it they did. Another $2k off. Yeah, that was nice

Just took delivery of her earlier today. The car is for my wife so I'm sure she'll be happy... well she better be!
