W205 Discount challenge!
#201
However, I assume because I didn't buy a car I received a followup email saying the discount was available for 180 days following the event.
After I received the followup email, I talked to the dealer and ended up getting $5000 off sticker PLUS the $500 Open Haus discount from a C300 with sticker of $50,235. I couldn't pass up the 11% discount and bought the car on Sunday! I absolutely love the car!

USAA discount
Today--Nov 1 USAA discount on 2015 C is $2500. Remember that the USAA $$ is from MBUSA not the dealer. This $$ should be in addition to what the dealer is offering. I have bought several MB's on the USAA programs. Final discounts s/b well beyond 10%. Also you can get another $500 if you belong to the Mercedes club (MBCA).

As a dealer, I wouldn't care if you brought me a US quote, we don't price match the US market.
Just read this thread, the margin for the cars in the US must be are higher. I can tell you, we do not have a 12-13% markup here, I WISH WE DID. We would literally lose money at that kind of discount. This is why Canadians are not getting as big of a %.
Everyone keep in mind, some of the larger metropolitan city centers which have lots of competition may offer huge savings, but like someone mentioned, don't expect good service. Some of the smaller MB dealers have a very limited supply so they can't offer huge deals, and at the end of the day, the dealership does need to make a margin to keep the lights on. I am actually FLOORED at some of the discounts you guys are getting but hey if they offer it go nuts! I've got about 6 W205s on order for my customers and the biggest discount I offered was $1000. I do provide above average service and we are not a high volume store, and the nearest MB dealer other than us is a good 6 hour drive.
Interesting thread.

For those of you leasing, from what I can work out of the Winter Event offer, the C300 money factor has been dropped from 0.00166 to 0.00136. The dealer cash still seems to be the same at $1.5k/$3k.

Do you know if the C400 is still standard rate? I haven't had a chance to inquire with my contact.

I have not seen anything to indicate that a promotional money factor has been introduced for the C400. 'Non-standard' models like the GLK250, E550, etc. have gone entire model years without ever getting a promotional money factor, and I would expect no different for the C400.

You can become a member but in order to get all the USAA benefits you must have a qualifying family member who's either active or retired.

USAA discount
2 Membership qualification can be passed on to succeeding generations as long as the chain is not broken. As I am a USAA member my 5 children are also eligible, and their children etc.
3 The USAA $ does not come out of the dealers pocket in any way. If you want you can negotiate your best deal and then get your USAA $ discount in addition. It usually cannot be combined with other MB promos. The $500 from MBCA CAN BE.
4 If you are not a member of MBCA you are throwing $$$ away every time you buy a new one. In the last 6 yrs I have received over $7,000 from MBCA in addition to the dealer deal. Again this $ has NOTHING to do with the price you have negotiated.
5 I do not limit myself to local area dealers. Have bought several cars from out of state MB dealers. If the deal is worth it any car is only a plane ride away. In the past 10 years have gone to Chicago,St. Louis,S Carolina and Florida. Service @ my local MB dealer has not been a problem. They now have a sharper pencil when I am in the market for another car.

The cost is irrelevant TBH because the dealer will not sell it to you for that price. If you read this thread and see what your local forum members are getting for discount %, just make sure you get the same as them and you'll know you got a good deal. We do not have to offer up that much savings in order to move the few W205s we get so it will vary by region.

Does This Lease Make Sense?
Need some expert help: got offer for 36 months/10k year lease on total cost of $51500 and residual $34136, with 4k down gets to $692/month lease.
Adding up total of monthly payments and residual gives me around 59k. Monthly payments seem too high. Who can help me understand if this lease makes sense?

Which market are you in?
C300 or C400?
What is the MSRP?
What is the money factor?
How much is the acquisition fee?
How much is the doc fee?
Get these information from your dealer. If they balk, it's a sign that they may be trying to hide markups from you, and it might be time to find another dealer.

Looks like Winter Event dealer cash on C-Class is $2000. If this can be doubled like the previous dealer cash certificates were (and it's looking that way from some of the early offers I'm seeing from dealers around here in Los Angeles), it may be possible to get up to $4.5k-$5k below invoice depending on your market and how desperate the dealer is to hit end of year goals.

Also, any way to know which cities qualify to double the dealer cash? Any idea if Chicago is one of those cities?
Thanks.
