2015 C400
that's a great price for a loaded car like that, my car MSRP was a little higher but I only got total discount of about 6K and I bought it. I definitely left money on the table but that's a great deal you got there, go for it.

Rearview Camera $460
18-Inch Twin 5-Spoke Wheels - $500

It's the loaner vehicles/demos. I picked up mine a couple days ago, it had 4,096 miles on the clock. I purchased the maintenance plan and threw it into the monthly payment, just to ease my mind when the time comes. It upped the price but since some of it is residulized, I saved a couple hundred bucks... allegedly.

Thanks for reply. Did you have to buy the 1 from your dealer, or is it a whole dealer auction and they found you one with specs you wanted?

BMW dealers go to auction and actually buys the demo cars and can lease them. The car didn't have to be a demo just at that one store.

Do you know if its like that or if you had to lease a demo that your dealer had as a demo of their own.

Leased it directly from the Mercedes Benz dealership. It seems to be something they do with the majority of their loaner vehicles. It worked out to be equipped with almost everything I wanted, and at that price I was more than willing to go without a couple things.

I know. I feel a touch guilty now as its taken so long to get here I'm now looking at the cost of it all and having second thoughts. I already have a car, a BMW Z4 that's paid off. The other half already has a four seater car, but its tiny, a Toyota IQ and we use this for us and our two dogs. But I liked the idea of having something luxurious and more practical than both, for days away and more general use so I could 'save' the Z4 from it being a daily driver. I can afford it, but I look at the overall cost and think, that could be money to pay off a chunk of the mortgage and retire a bit earlier!

Anyhow that aside, I think its the combo of my stubbornness, quoting drivethedeal and it being a car already ordered (though I can change its spec) ready for the new plate delivery in March.

Oh god, what to do...

At that price it makes the decision harder as well... Good luck on the decision!

I'm waiting on details for the C450 so that will be when I make my decision of waiting for that or the C200. I imagine the C450 will have less of a discount than the C200...

Through negotiating a price via email, is it normal for a salesman to essentially refuse to provide an itemized OTD price breakdown (discount off MSRP price, tax, dealer fee, etc)? One dealer I'm working with flat-out said he's not going to help other dealers by providing the OTD breakdown.

Usually, I negotiate directly with MSRP price and exclude other items. The reason is because OTD is just MSPR +tax and general fees. Those are equal for any dealer. If you want to compare price, then compare OTD for both dealers. Then they are on equal footing. In the end, you will get a document that shows you what you paid in itemized section. At least, that was my case in California.

Not normal, this is when I flat-out tell him to go to take a hike.

He also keeps asking when I'm coming to the dealership, which is annoying. I didn't expect that kind of customer service from a MB dealership.

It doesn't matter if they work at Honda or Mercedes or Bentley, they are all car salesman...

I have encountered tons of salesman that dont talk serious numbers until they know for sure they can get you into the door.

Just go there, its no big deal. Have your number in mind. Then spend an hour. You can always just walk away if you are not happy. Getting the best deal is not the objective. The objective is to get the car you want for the price you want to pay. You can tell from the forum post the average discount off MSRP. Do some research of your area should give you an idea of out of door requirements.

You probably should update your profile with your locations. Its easier for other to tell what are the other factors.

I bought my BMW X5 on internet. The guy was honest to me from the beginning. That was rare though. I had literally go out of my area to southern california to find that kind of sales person. All the local ones were pretty much giving crapping numbers.

I personally wouldn't go in. I made it clear in my emails that I had already test driven and knew exactly what I wanted to let the dealer know I had no reason to come in. If the dealer won't deal over the Internet then you likely won't get a great deal in person either. They know it's to their advantage to have you at the dealership, so why give them that advantage? At the end of the day they are selling commodities and you just need to find who can give you the best price, which is best done not going to a dealership. I negotiated purely over email and after a few back and forths during the course of the day I got 17% off. Really easy and convenient.

Agreed fully, tell him the only way you'll go in is to pick up the car. The last four cars I bought, I did not met my sales rep until the day of my delivery. Also tell him you're very happy with the services from their competitor so you have no intention of visiting him.

What's up with this price quote?

Got a price for a RWD c300 sport with listed msrp $49245
Premium pkg
Multimedia
Blind spot
Open pore black ash trim
Sunroof
Heated seats

After 1 email, no haggling, it was $38,111. $42,014.94 out the door. Am I missing something? Is the price difference between awd and rwd really that big of a difference? This is in the LA area btw

Just looking for some advise from the forum. First post!!

Wow that is an amazing deal! I plan to purchase one that is pretty much identical to yours when I move back to LA. May I ask where and with whom you spoke?

they will deal like that all day long on lot cars. similar was offered to me. Ended up going to Beshoff (SF bay area). Internet manager, hassle free, will give you whatever deal you want even on an order.

build for my car (300 RWD, sport, with airmatic, pp1, full adaptive led, camera, shades, palladium, etc) 50,050 - 41,000 - for an ordered vehicle.

two other dealers said they will match but not on order.
