Traded in my 2010 C300 for a BMW Z4. The Z4 is a blast to drive but I love the redesign of this C Class. Going to see if they have any good lease deals this weekend!
The chasm between the beautiful and the ugly in the C-Class range is astounding. What I'm actually saying is that the $650 Luxury Package ruins the W205 C-Class more than recharging your iPhone 6 Plus in the microwave.
People on the forum have a problem with the looks of this car, and I do, too. Every time I look at it, I get this expression on my face ... I think it's the same expression that would appear if my forehead were beat with a nightstick at medium force.

to be fair, I haven't seen the luxury style in person, yet. When I first saw pics I thought the sport style was way sexier (and it is) but that's not what luxury is about. It's grown on me and it looks to be a sophisticated styling. Sorry if it cramps your style?
Don't use a wide angle lens in taking car photos. It will distort the closest part and make the car look out of proportion. Move back and use a medium lens and you will get realistic photos.
If you don't like the luxury style grill, my suggestion would be that you don't buy it. If you don't like a particular wheel style ... don't buy it.
MB offers several styling options to appeal to a variety of tastes. You don't have to like them all, but that doesn't give anyone the right to insult the tastes of others. There have been some amazingly crude, cruel, and simply childish comments made here about other people's cars.
Mutual respect is what creates the sense of camaraderie found on successful forums. To the few who seem to enjoy throwing insults around with no consideration to the feelings of others ... how about acting like responsible adults for a change?
2013 S550 4matic (AMG sport package), 2016 Corvette Stingray.
In my opinion the luxury package looks elegant and shares the lines of the sclass , many people prefer to have the 3 pointed star on their hood and love the tradition. I personally prefer a sports model of any car, so ofcourse the sport model one would be my choice but I love the fact that mercedes didn't shove one model down our throats and force everyone to have the same exact looking car.
I second that's great for MB to provide options for tradition and sport. Lux package is really nice when I saw it in the showroom; being a sportier person, I opt for the sport look but I would not trash others for their choice. PC people...
The FAIL is the photographer, not the car. The White Sport C-class would look similarly un-attractive if taken with that same poor camera angle and lens.
This looks fine to me
I actually like both front-end styles for different reasons.

That was a terrible photograph. I saw several in person and they are very, very classy.
I both hate them! saw a lot of these on the road an ohh boy are they fat looking. The sport package needs to grow on me still. As a matter of fact even my sales person told me tboth packages are not a really nice and the 3 series kicked the c-class on style this time around (oh-oh did I say that out loud!? I'll get haters now)
Nevertheless the inside of the car also does indeed looks nice BUT feels smaller than my pre-facelift c-class maybe because of the curve that happened inside.
More reason for me to jump ship if the time comes unless after 3 years they introduce a facelift and corrects the styling boo-boo then maybe just maybe I won't jump ship.
One other thing. If you are buying the sport package car PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get the OEM spoiler to lift up the bum-bum of the car a little and give it a more aggressive look as it looks way subtle without one.

Im wouldn't say the car is ugly. It just needs some moving to make it look good. The way the car comes stock with the Luxury Package looks horrible. The luxury package with a slight drop and flush wheels would be beautiful. Then again I think the people getting luxury package aren't the type of people to mod their cars.
If someone gets the luxury package throws on some nice vossens, adv1, etc and drops it, it will look sooo clean.
And it this example "it sees" a distorted and proportionally incorrect image through a wide angle lens.
I know what you are saying about the wheels and ride height but the example pictures in the OP are not fair examples due to one of them being more distorted than the other

Is that sales person legally-blind, or not yet diagnosed? In what world does the current 3 series look better? This car could be fuschia-colored with pink spinners for wheels and would still look more elegant, classy and upscale than a 3 series, which looks super-plain.
I like both looks. If the higher ride height and ugly (my opinion) wheels weren't part of the luxury package, it would honestly be a very hard choice of which look to go with. Honestly, probably would go with the luxury. But the ride height and wheels kill it for me.

The camera only takes a picture of what it sees. Hilarious excuse.
Do you need regular pictures?
It's still ugly in "regular" pictures. Looks like truck.

Please go be a hater elsewhere, when did your specific taste become universal?
This forum and this thread in particular isnt meant for whining cynics like you.

Not a hater at all, I just call out BS on this. The camera made it look that way, hilarious
You can honestly say that you like that car, jacked up on little ugly wheels? Straight up, you actually like that?
