Incoming call ringer sound VERY LOUD!
Whenever I have my phone connected via BT, the integrated ringer sound through the speaker system on an INCOMING CALL is INCREDIBLY loud and quite unnerving. I tried turning down the volume on the steering wheel as the call is ringing in, and that turns it down temporarily, but the next time a call comes in, it's back to ear-splitting levels.
Any idea on where to adjust this setting? I've found controls for the outgoing volume and reception volume, but those only seem to apply to the volume of the phone call itself (you can adjust the caller's voice to be louder or softer), but not the on-board, BT integrated ringing sound effect.
It also doesn't seem to be connected to the ringer volume on my phone, either. I've also changed that setting to a very low setting (and even vibrate) and it still doesn't affect the ringer volume through the BT system.
Help!

I've tried setting it via both as the ringer is coming in. In fact, it's the first thing I always do, because the ringer is SO loud, I keep worrying the speakers will blow. But it always seems to revert back to the maximum volume.

That is strange. On my W204 C class, the radio volume controls the ringer volume when there is an incoming call, and it stays that way for the next call.
But these kind of volume glitches aren't uncommon in Benz cars. Again on my C class, the radio volume defaults to a loudish setting every time you start the car, no matter what volume/mute you had it on before shutting off.

I think you have done everything correct.
My suggestion is to either remove the current Bluetooth phone and set it up all over again.
If this fails to fix, try hitting the "OK" button after you have adjusted the incoming ring volume.
Fortunately I have never had this problem with any of the Command/Phone setups on my MBs.

There has to be a way to set the default ring tone volume unless their is a software bug with a fix on the way.
On older units in stock radio or Comand you had to adjust the volume while the event happened and it remembered the setting discreetly. e.g. while the Nav lady spoke or the Phone rang or on Audio.

This earlier thread (from 2007!) seems to be about the exact same problem.
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ng-volume.html
One thing I noticed in it was:
"Ringing volume is set up strictly through your blue tooth phone... if your phone supports blue tooth 1.0 or higher, then by decreasing the ringing volume on your headset profile or bluetooth profile will automatically decrease the ringing volume on whatever bluetooth headset you are connected to. That is the only way this can be done, there are no settings within the vehicle to regulate ringing volume."
Might be worth a try.

Ringer Volume to loud.
We have a 2015, C300 paired with a Samsung S3 android phone. We have the same issue with an extremely loud ringer. This is not the phone ringing but the car ringer. We had 2011, C300 and E350, no problem with this phone. We have a 2014 E350, no problem. We took it to the dealership, they called Mercedes. They still do not have a solution. This is a safety issue as the ring is very startling. I know MBZ is more about Apple IOS but there are a lot of Androids out there. They have a system bug that needs fixing.

Loud phone ringer in 2015 C300
I adjusted the both volumes as per the MBZ instruction above. It does nothing. This is a serious safety hazard Mercedes needs to address. My wife and I nearly jump out of our skin every time we have an incoming call. It is very, very startling.

What kind of ring tone do you have set on the phone? I've got music set for my ringtone on my iPhone 6+ and it comes through the speakers at a normal volume. Maybe change the ringtone on the phone and see if it makes any difference.

Seems like it would be worth a try. Btw, as a relative newcomer here, it's good to see a "familiar face" from "the fest."

On a German forum a guy had this adjusted by his dealership. There is a (German?) manual to make adjustments to the Audio20 CD settings in a hidden menu of some kind. I'm trying to get more details of this. My Dutch dealership also adressed this as a safety issue with The Dutch MB organisation. See what comes out of this.
This issue seems to be there for all non-Apple phones.

I use an iPhone 6 Plus, set to a music ringtone, and the in-built car ringtone scares the living crap out of me when it rings. It's horrible.
