Comand Traffic - Not working anymore - Dealer can not find the Problem
Received my brand new Mercedes C200 break about 2 months ago. The Comand Traffic option stopped working after about 2 weeks. Somethimes (!!) it will work for some time. The car was already with the dealer for 3 times. No succes. Dealer is now 'waiting' for a solution from Mercedes/Germany.
Reading the thread, this seems to be a common problem. Has somebody experience with a good & final solution, yet ?
Regards, Marc

TRAFFIC not working
TRAFFIC has only worked occasionally on my 2015 CLS. Went to dealer for a software update yesterday but they decided to order a new DAB aerial instead and do the work in two weeks. I'm not sure DAB has anything to do with TRAFFIC and my DAB radio is currently working fine so I'll await the outcome with interest (and irritation!)

Mine has worked fine since I pulled fuse 309 about a week or so ago. I went on a run from Manchester to Sheffield at the weekend and it worked fine all the way. Prior to that it would drop out now and then.

Took mine to the dealer last week. They did a software update, not sure what it entailed and traffic worked the following day only problem is it activates after about 40mins of journey time which is pretty pointless. MB really need to sort this issue out considering how much people are paying for the feature.

mine doesn't come up, straight away, either - but not as long as 40 mins, more like a 5 minute delay.

I'm still waiting for my car, but I currently have a Garmin Nuvi with traffic, and that takes a while to get the traffic info as well.

I believe it has to be in an area that is transmitting the data first, which for me is about 5 miles down the road

Have you tried rebooting the Comm Module? ManiacGT provided the detail, above.

If you have pulled out fuse 309/re-inserted, that should have done the trick... Just one thing to watch out for though - make sure you have popped it back in the right fuse-holder (2nd one down) - I did it inside the garage, where the lighting was restricted and put it into the spare bay, above, by mistake - then grumbled to myself it still wasn't working!

Mine has worked fine since last August, don't have Mercedes ME though which is probably why it works.

I have both mercedes me and live traffic working flawlessly and reliably since day 1 (one month ago).
I'm located in Belgium so it may be a location specific issue?
Live traffic is enabled in less than a minute after my car is started.
I find it particularly good at finding alternative routes

COMAND - Traffic - Fuse 309 no luck, same problem.
Thanks jolt8631 for the suggestion.
Did remove Fuse 309 and re-inserted it. No change. Still not fully working. Somethimes it's there, and -usually- when needed it's not.
About the rebooting procedure, I can not find the thread/message. Can yoy help ?
Mercedes dealer in Belgium does not know it anymore.
Where in the Mercedes company can I escalate my problem ?
Thanks, Marc

OK. Pulling the fuse will have re-booted the Comm module. You should also reset the Comand by holding the eject button for 10 seconds - you will lose any personal settings etc, but well worth trying.

If there is no joy after that, then it sounds like you have a faulty Comm module.

One thing, if you access the car via Mercedes Me, when was the data last updated?

I had this problem when I first took delivery. Has your dealer applied TIPS G182.85-P-059982 ?

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w205...d-working.html

Since applying, mine now works 99% of the time. Once recently didn't work for a short journey which I started in an underground car park with no GSM signal (may or may not be related).

Otherwise been very reliable for me. Traffic icon usually appears within a minute of starting the car.

Bon chance.

COMAND - Traffic - Fuse 309 + Reset
Good evening ' Jolt8631',
Carried out the following, in the indicated sequence :
1. Removed and inserted F309
2. Hold the ' Eject' button for 10 sec. The COMAND did reset, but -by my opinion- there was no real reset, as my personal settings & Data were still there.
Status after the action : COMAND Traffic still not working.

Do you (or anyone else) have other tips ? Thanks in advance.

Sounds to that you have, either:

A) a faulty Comm Unit - trip to the dealer.
B) a problem with your subscriptions/set up. Sounds like a trip to the dealer to get them to do the above.

Either way, your dealer needs to "own" the problem - you should not need to be fretting.

One other thing - do you get the "WiFi" symbol at the top of your display? Can you set Geofences etc - try it, with a tight radius around your car - drive outside of this and back again - if the Comm is working OK, you should get an EM saying your car has been detected leaving/returning.

Traffic sorted?
My 2015 CLS went into the dealer for a new antenna and Comand software update on Friday and so far everything seems to be working, connecting within 5 minutes of ignition.

After an "update" the comand system still doesn't work. It seems only to work in Germany?
I drove recently in the UK and Holland were the systems doen't work either. After I wrote a claim to Mercedes Belgium they wrote that they are aware of the problem but they have no idea when it will be solved.
This means Mercedes is selling a system were they know of it doesnt work, which is forbidden by law. A combined claim should be possible?

I picked my car up last Friday (in UK) - it's a MY16.

Live traffic (and the auto re-routing) on the dynamic route guidance is working well. It has taken me around several jams (including near Silverstone on Friday).

Can the TMC system be selected if the live traffic is not working? It's clearly less sophicated/real time, but I was wondering if when I am in poor signal areas (or start to get the problems others mention) that it may be useful as a reserve.

Traffic now working
Traffic still working on my UK MY16 CLS post antenna/software update.
As far as I know TMC is permanently disabled if you have Traffic installed so no possibility of using it for 'backup'.

All, the "cheaper" Garmin system works. Only this:
http://automotive.tomtom.com/en/success-stories/daimler
doesn't in Belgium, Holland and UK. Other countries I don't know. Mercedes Belgium is aware of the problem and can't offer a solution.

Mine doesn't work in Belgium either. During a trip to the Loire region I noticed that Traffic Info works in France. Well, except in the Paris region, where I needed it most...
It did work in Holland though, on a short trip to Roosendaal and back. A few kilometers over the border back in Belgium and it stopped working.

My dealer told me that they are working on a solution and it should be available in August. But they give very limited information on what the issue is. I assume it's software.

By the way, I can't connect to Internet via my Bluetooth phone (Samsung S4). It worked fine on my previous car, with the BlueDun app. Anyone got this working? Or are both issues related?
