I think that the point is, if you want to research an issue, then it would make sense to read the thread - as you said, the title suggested it referred to your issue - that is simply laziness, please don't be offended if folks point that out.

SOLVED! (i think :) )
i had the same noise from cd player but then one day, keyless go system warned me about "keyfob battery low" and same noise heared from cd player. i changed the battery in keyfob (CR 2025 coin cell type) and for two days no TICKS... i wish it was battery problem.

Wow, this is an old thread however reading it has just made me realise that since my car had a software update late last year I haven't had the noise either. It was a little annoying but not the end of the world however it's nice that it doesn't do it anymore.

Yes the is the same sound my 216 GLE 350d makes after starting and also every now again. Its bloody anyouing but now that I know what is is, Im not quite so bothered by it, but Im hoing they will have a fix in due course.

Hi. This is my first post so go easy on me! I have had my 2015 w205 a week and it's already been back at dealers for two days with engine management light. It turned out it was the Nox sensors. Replaced under warranty along with a failed led in door handle. However, I'm now noticing this chirp / clicking noise mentioned here. It's not just a few times, it's most of my journeys and all of the time! Is there a recognised fix for this? I'm really not impressed with the car at this moment and the more ammo I have when I call the dealer the better! UK car, built in SA. Thanks

Here's my issue: my 2014 C300 does NOT have Keyless Go.
I get a very audible clicking - at various rates -- when I open the car door in the morning, BEFORE I even put the key in the dash. Does not happen when I take the car to the dealer, of course.
No sounds while driving or once the car is started.
The sound often resumes when I stop the car and turn off the engine. Sometimes it stops when I exit, sometimes it continues! Technicians treated it like a rattle, naturally found nothing.
