No, if you have ambience illumination the light duffusors are just clicked in, the panel swap is easy and should be done in 45 mins if taking good care.

With all the issues people are having with the clock. I would be really interested in wrapping the existing console. I know there was a forum post about this but does anyone know where we can get quality wrapping materials. Excuse the ignorance I'm new to stuff like this.

GLC centre console on a C Class (w205)
Much like the rest of the Benz fraternity I hate the piano back centre console I have. The new GLC has an identical console, minus the incredibly expensive clock. Does anyone know if a GLC centre console can be used in a w205 c class?

My car unfortunately also has Piano black. As far as I can remember from dealer demo cars that have black ash - the black ash is not real wood, but plastic as well.

The black ash is wood not plastic. It is actually veneer on metal. Benz does not use plastic for their cars with wood.

Aha - will check again next time I'm at the dealer. Incidentally, I based it on how the ashtray cover felt when open. Definitely remember thinking it had a plastic feel to it, similar to my Piano plastic-fantastic

Hi,
Im just about to embark on replacing piano black console for black ash, with analogue clock.
I have read through and from what I read about the clock the 3 wires for the clock are a pain !!
Has anybody got any information on an easy location for the yellow signal wire I believe it requires linking in with LIN CH1. I do not have HUD etc.
is there any suitable location near to console for LIN CH1 ??
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Bernie

OEM trim vs. Wrap?
Hey,
It seems like I'm by the only one with this issue lol...
I recently got a C43 AMG but it came with the piano black console -- I was thinking of replacing it with original OEM black ash wood trim from MB, but it's looking like it's gonna cost a fortune... $2000+ with install, and they can't even guarantee that it'll work 100%. So, I'm debating on getting it wrapped instead... but worried about it looking cheesy... what are your guys' thoughts? Has anyone wrapped it and are they satisfied with it? Does it look legit? Or has anyone whose made the switch feel like that $2k was worth it?
Thanks!
Big Omz

Hi guys, why you not ordering new panel without clock from link below: 455eur
https://www.kunzmann.de/shop/de/fahr...he-schwarz.htm
regarding door aluminium door trim, I do not recommend it, aluminium is very soft, I saw couple of cars with dots (small holes) of seat belt.
I have question, it is possible to add illuminated panel, or cabling and some control unit is must also?

As for the illumination - based off of all the reading I've been doing, is that if your car doesn't have it then you would need to order a part with the illumination and hook it up, or order an illumination kit. But not sure how to go about doing that.
Thanks,
