Initial seat belt tightening - what's the point?
When I first turn on the car and buckle my seatbelt, The seatbelt gets very tight for a second and then relaxes. What is the point of this? I assume it is some way of figuring out how tight to have the seatbelt in case of an accident but wasn't sure.

I think it's designed to take up any slack in the belt so that your better protected should you have an accident.

You can always turn it off from the steering wheel controls.

Yes it can be turned off and its just telling you that the pre safe belt is active. That is what happens right before you get into an accident.

When I was test driving the car, I yelled at the person behind me thinking they stepped on the belt

C220 BlueTec AMG Line
Is this standard equipment as my C220 AMG Line does not do this? I did have a brief think about this as my previous E class had the presafe but thought it was an option for the new C.
