Transmission
My C300 has had a jerky transmission (1-2 or 2-3) since I bought it. The service department has tried adaptations several times and recently programmed in a new version of the transmission software, but without success. The agility mode I am in makes no difference. What is the experience of other C300 owners on this forum? Thanks

Why quote the post right above?
The issue from 2nd to 3rd should be a well known issue. Mercedes Benz has this issue highlighted in their workshop system since July 2014. No solution yet.
My car has the same issue. The have tried adaptation, then changing the torque converter, and now the car has been there for two days and they are changing the controlling unit/system board for the transmission.
Will se later today if the managed to fix the issue.

I am experiencing this too. At first I thought that I needed to get accustomed to the throttle, but it is the transmission down shifting abruptly, I believe.
Anyone else?

Car is back after three days at the workshop. Still not 100%. Still buggy from 2nd to 3rd.
Will test tomorrow morning and see how it works after a cold start.

don't say that...............................
There is one more part they have to change in the transmission, but the part hadn't arrived yet from Germany. They will call me once the part arrives to change this and see if it gets better.
I told him that this is the sixth time I have been here, so the next time will be the last. we will have to talk about other solutions if that doesnt work.
The weird thing is that it worked perfectly for the first 6000km...

I am hopeful that a fix can be found for this as the software update that was just released is not the answer. Megaoctane, I look forward to your updates in hopes that you find the solution. Never had a car that shifted this poorly, and never expected it from a 50K Mercedes.

You're right...c63 gets the refreshed mct
So I don't mean to be pessimistic for those of you just now realizing how clunky these transmissions can be... But search the board ... It's all over the place and many models

Read about your AMG issues.
I have previously owned a W211 and a W212 with the 7G tronic gearbox and no issues.
The worst part was when this one time the mechanic said this was normal behavior. Had to put him straight.

I get sporadic jerky upshifts from 2-3 a few times when cold, then it goes away, I am pretty confident that this is a software issue, replacing, control unit, valve body, valves or converter will not help.
I am patiently waiting for a software update.

mine does it regardless of cold/warm engine.
If the problem was known by Mercedes in July 2014 - and still no update in february 2015. how long should one patiently wait?
The change of converter was done by instructions form the factory technicians, and the control unit is also by instructions from the factory according to the workshop.

Well, what can we do?, I cant force the Germans to provide new software faster, this issue is known and I have been told they are working hard to resolve it.
The car is still useable right?

The car is usable of course. been driving for more than two months with this issue.
A car for NOK 530.000 (70.000 USD) with a transmission that is jerky is not the customers problem.
If it had gone away when warm, one could live with it. But when the problem is there all the time, it gets very annoying.

I can understand that, but I am not saying that it is your problem or that you should live with it, just that new software will most likely fix the issue when available.

They started telling me they were hard at work trying to come out with definitive software back in June 2013.... Still waiting

I understand Vic, but I also think that as long as there are extremely limited cars that have this issue still after the engine and transmission is warm, they can let it slide and keep working on the 9G tronic.
Having extremely high paid engineers working on this is probably not priority one...

I also was hoping that the new software would be the answer, but it is not. I had the software update done as soon as it was available in early February. While the software update did address 2-3, the transmission now jerks from 1-2, which it never did before. The software update also introduced clunking on the 5-4 downshift. Anyway, why would certain transmissions shift poorly while others shift just fine if it were a software issue?
