First video I've seen on the C450 for anyone who might be interested

really interested to see the reviews on this car... doesn't seem to be a massive step up speed wise from the C400 but the handling is what should be much more interesting. I still wish they made it in RWD.

 

There will be a lot of first drive reviews coming out soon after the press drive in Portugal along with the C63.

sounds pretty decent for what it is (better than f30 and maybe even f80) but that acceleration was kinda slow

reviews seem good so far!

 

Expected a bit more from the C450 honestly. It doesn't sound all that good at all, and it's not really faster then the C400.

 

Definitely sounds decent for what it is lol. And quoted time for the car in the video is 5.0 seconds which to the C400's 5.2 is definitely not significantly faster by any means

The vid is of a station wagon, they weigh more, and are slower.

 

Precisely why I said 5.0 as sedan is 0.1 second faster to 60

 

I would wait until real world testing is done to determine how fast it is. Factory estimate mean little to nothing. C&D already beat those numbers with a C400 so of course the C450 will be even faster.

I don't know why they didn't just name the vehicle a C400s...
Thats all it is, perhaps you guys were expecting too much because they put that AMG badge on the car?

 

MB probably should have done what BMW did and have a power upgrade, braking upgrade etc as a option. (You can add a Performance Package 1 and Performance package 2 which add HP, torque to the car along with better brakes etc). So basically it would have been a C400 and you could add a performance package which would make the car slightly better and more competitive with other brands.

 

I agree, 4.4 0-60 and a 13 flat q-mile is entirely possible once the car gets into the hands of third party testers. Funny how some people compare the factory times with magazine times, apples to kumquats comparison.
