Very rough upshifts?

Hi, I've got a new c300 and I'm wondering what people think of the shifting? Sometimes it can be incredibly aggressive with upshifts and accelterating. I come from a 2011 gti that had DSG, so I'm wondering if this is normal and I just got used to the ridiculously smooth shifts of my GTI.

Because I mean it is seriously aggressive.

I noticed that going from first to second and second to third -- especially when I start in the morning. I have fewer than 100 miles on my C300.

When the car is cold it delays upshifts & goes into open loop high idle to heat the Cats quickly for emissions. Can be slightly more aggressive but not bad.

For shift shock issues ~ tell the dealer to put it on a Star. Check all change pressures & reset all adaptions & it should be fine.

Ensure it has the latest software flash.

Glyn, is that high idle between lower gears when engine isn't warm part of the design? Or should it be fixed by method you noted? Thanks in advance.

No ~ it's been part of the design for a long while. Open loop enrichment (MAF out of circuit & only ECU feed from temp sensor), High idle, Holding of low gears, Excess air pump running. Done to meet Euro emissions standards & original LEV claims in the early 2000's. These cars run squeaky clean exhausts right from cold start. Mainly H2O emission.

My shift shock comments relate to fully warmed up car where changes should be ultra smooth.
