So what began with me having a little fling with a cute young C300 loaner for two weeks while my beloved 2010 S550 was hospitalized with a bad strut has blown up into a major affair.
Now the S is home recovering and I'm going down to Tampa tomorrow to get a C450. WTF. It was supposed to be a fun little fling. I wasn't supposed to leave my loyal S Class for something six years younger! Plus I have an extra S Class I have to get rid off.

I personally feel the GLA is. Piece of sh.t. It is no comparison. The fit and finish is low quality. I think it was built for low entry USA model. The 45 version is probably fun to drive on a test drive but that's not what you want for a daily driver.
Trust us all on this forum and get the c450.

Fastest 4cylinder turbo and with AMG Perforamnce exhaust sounds better than any C450 i've seen on youtube
But def going to go see it in person it def looks better overall in every thing I've seen.
I think one of the car mags came out with 4.5 to 60, however, a few gentleman on here have done independent testing clocking times quicker than that, the fastest being 4.2.
Yes the 340i is lighter and more of that performance oriented straight line get up and go. The overall package of the C450 though poops on BMW in my opinion, interior, aesthetics, exhaust note, exterior etc

I don't understand why people talk about the Bmw in this forum. If you like it better go for it. Here we are c450 lovers.
I personally tried the 435i xdrive and can tell it has nothing to do with the sportiness of the c450. Don't trust figures and statistics !! Go for a test drive.

Nice man! I actually live in Tampa and was the first to pick one up at the dealership here. I have yet to see any on the road in Florida. Lemme know how things go with that. They'll treat you well, and the service department is great if you ever need anything there. Also a ton of AMG models for you to oggle over
love the car

First lengthy drive I have had it on. Had it up to 90mph on I4 and it was a real nice ride.

RobNYC...Youtube the C450 Performance exhaust check...it's like a minute and fifty seven seconds long but from 55 seconds onward it's awesome. This car will sound great with an exhaust....again I am not disagreeing with you when mentioning straight line speed with regards to BMW's vehicles, not sure why you bring it up again, but I maintain the looks, sound, and presence of the C450 is the best of the bunch..far more of the complete package

Any of you C450 owners have issues with the dashboard rattling/creaking? My C300 doesn't have it (but a host of other problems such as wind noise, speaker rattle, power steering cutting out twice while driving), but the AMG board has a lengthy thread on the dash issue. Just wondering if this issue exists with the c450? I'm thinking of getting a C450 but perhaps MB still hasn't worked out the kinks with the C-class 1 1/2 years into its life.

I should have been clearer. I'm not talking about PS delays. I'm talking about power steering stops functioning and the car is basically inoperable. They had to replace the steering rack. And it still malfunctioned.

This is in the Greater Philadelphia Area at MB of Fort Washington. Not sure if that person is on this forum or if the girl in the finance office mistaken the first pick up as a C450 as another W205, perhaps a C63. But in any case, I have not seen another one in my town either. Only saw two in public, once on the Eastbound 495 LIE in Queens NY and my first sighting of the C450 was back in June when my inlaws' neighbor who is the Philly regional AMG product specialist drove it for 3 months to each and every dealer in the tristate area

Newb on this forum with a probably rhetorical question. I'm guessing that MB will never bring the wagon version of the C450 to the States? Might still consider the 4dr sedan next year. From what I can tell, it has fittings in the roof for cross bars. I need them for a secure mount for hauling my kayak around. The thing about a wagon, however, is that there's a greater fore/aft spread on the bars, which helps with long sea kayaks... and I have a soft spot for wagons.
Doubtful that the C450 Wagon will ever come to the States.

Most likely as here in the States the majority of people hate wagons. Strange, since a wagon has maybe 90% of the utility of an SUV but maintains the handling characteristics of the sedan that serves as its base. But then most folks seem to care little about a vehicle's handling attributes.
Currently I have a BMW wagon which serves me well but about a 100 hp more would serve me better

Most North Americans associate wagons with this :
The pragmatic me knows how nice a wagon would be with only a small compromise in terms of handling and fun... But the irrational (read: the fun me) does not like the idea or look of a wagon...
It's a North American culture thing I guess... Probably because everything is bigger in NA - if we want practicality or room to lug stuff around, we buy Suburbans.

Well I drove two C450's in Tampa. They're very angry little beasts! So tempted to pull the trigger just for the fun factor. DD liveability for an old fart like me accustomed to the S Class was too big a swing in the other direction. I ended up doing a custom build on a less raucous but fully loaded C300 instead.

Radar detectors and laser Jammers
I pulled the trigger on about 1500 bucks worth of al priority laser jamming gear as well as a valentine one. If there is one thing I feel I need with this car it's this. To be clear I try my hardest to obey the speed laws but it's just so damn hard with this car. And 2k for protection beats 4 or 5 speeding tickets and the hassle to get friends to fix them. I will have some videos as well as how tos and reviews up on the site next week.

Gonna pop the modding cherry and start having some things done. At the moment, I'm keeping things simple with just a minor black out for several parts and a muffler delete. However, I was browsing online to see if there were any new accessories available, and I saw this. What do y'all think of it?
