During my 12 hour couch session recovering from last night, I came across this pic of an S class. Best pic I've been able to find to project how the Steel Grey and Saddle Brown will pair. Me likey, though I'd guess it's not for everyone.
That pic gave me an eye-boner. (It's a thing. Google it.)
So I wrote to AMG on their Facebook page. Their response suggest that they don't view the C450 as an AMG. See conversation below
I always drive me C450 in sports+ mode. Why when I restart the engine after driving in sports+, well within 4 hours, I just get a quiet start, instead of the rumble on start up? I get the start up rumble maybe about 20% of the time.

That's technically true. The C450 rides a line between the C300 and the C63 but isn't a full blown AMG product, but that's no secret. I guess the AMG folks are a little bit twitchy about it. I mean hell, they even took back that cool little AMG logo from the center console. Now it'll be really funny if MB refers you back to AMG because the car is an AMG series car.

We all know the C450 is not a full fledge AMG, but the fact that they refuse to even answer a question about the C450, on a topic (exhaust) that we are told was "engineered by AMG" is quite surprising to me.
After purchasing a new C450 in December, I realized that it just wasn’t going to work out for my family’s needs, so I traded it in last week and went back to an SUV (GLE400). About 200 miles into my ownership of the C450, I put on some Bridgestone Blizzak LM-32 tires, using factory 19” sizing (was unable to find wheels that would work with the front offset). I paid about $240 per tire, and am willing to sell them for $100 each (buyer pays shipping). I sold the car with 2900 miles, so they only have about 2700 miles each. I live in the Denver area.

Especially when the AMG website lists the 450 AMG under vehicle line up...

haha, ditto, but I do believe it's the Selenite Grey as the other poster called out.
I was able to turn this up from the C63 forum here, a guy who got a C63 with Steel Grey, Saddle Brown Designo, Linden Wood, etc...can see a bit of the exterior alongside the interior:
For me, this validates that you and I know what we're talking about when it comes to color combinations Awesome, bold contrast.
Yeah, that actually works really well. Sophisticated. When's the build date?
Although Carbon Fiber trim would bring all of those complimentary grey tones into the cabin and tie it all together. Hmmmm.
Build isn't until end of May, praying it somehow gets bumped up.
I've definitely thought about the Carbon Fiber trim a TON, but I love the Linden Wood and how classy it looks...going to stick with it. It just looks so good with the Saddle IMO. I may have the spoiler wrapped in CF though when I get it tinted.

You will not be disappointed with the Linden wood and Saddle Brown. Mine isn't Steel Gray but I can take an image showing the interior with Palladium if you'd like.

No worries, dude...I love your photos and have seen all of them of your C450, I get jealous of your editing skills every time (not to mention a good knowledge of photography, something I don't have). I agree that your silver looks great with the brown. No need to go out of your way for an extra picture.
Now...if you want to fly to Ohio and do a photo shoot of the car and shop them up for me once my car is delivered, that's an offer I'd take you up on haha. I was just thinking last night, "Man I only have a *****ty iPhone camera for when this thing gets delivered." I actually have the entire Adode Suite on my home PC so I could probably work out some decent shots, but I don't know how to use any of it - especially not Lightroom, and I'm pretty terrible in PhotoShop (Illustrator is that only one I'm decent at). Pair that with zero knowledge of photography and I'm pretty much doomed to have crappy shots of the ride, regardless of how great it looks IRL
Anyone know at what point in the process a VIN number becomes available on our cars? Is it not until it's built?
The reason I ask is I tried to call my insurance agent to ask for an insurance quote on the new ride and she insisted she needed a VIN number rather than me just giving her the details for an estimated quote. I hate her, but I digress, I'll just have to call back when I get a VIN.

From what we've seen here, the VIN is available to the dealer towards the start of production, so when the build is in progress.
If all you really want is a quote and can't get one without a VIN, grab a VIN from an unsold car on a dealer's website (or lot if you are so inclined).
Car should be back within a month I want to stress that this is not the norm for exhaust systems they are doing r and d so I knew what I was getting into. I have a whole bunch of new parts waiting to be installed on the car once I get it back.
Hey Cajun
Did you pick up your car on march 31st has you had planned? How is the exhaust?

Thanks man but it's really no trouble. I love shooting and I'll find any excuse to photograph cars rather than just people.
You'd be surprised about how good an iPhone camera captures images. It's all about placement, composition, and most importantly the lighting. Although I edit my images I really try not to do too much to them unless I'm going for something extreme or dramatic.
Like I mentioned to another member on here, 'Fly me out and pay for my food and lodging and I'll photograph whatever' haha, true story.
Rain in our forecast for the next 5 days so I'll capture that photo when it clears.
Been lurking on this forum for a while now. Ordered my C450 in January and just picked it up over the weekend. Decided to share some pics
Previous car was a 2014 CLA45 (mountain grey), and the one before that one was a 2012 Audi TT-RS (daytona grey).. the list goes on. Getting old as you can tell from the progression
Great looking ride, same combo I have coming except I added the night package. Was a really tough decision bc I love both looks. Figured with pano and me wanting to tint the windows to 35% I'd go with the black accents.
Thanks! I totally would've ordered the night package too if it were available here in Canada. Strange thing is the window trim comes black standard, but no option for the front lip and rear diffuser Considering replacing them with carbon fiber pieces, but not so sure about the quality of aftermarket stuff. I had the original exterior cf package on my cla45, but the cf available for this car is only the side mirrors and rear spoiler.
On the bright side, I'm getting the rear windows tinted on Saturday

C450 is more refined and comfortable. CLA45 is a lot more "raw". Also, the transmission on the CLA45 is quite horrible in my opinion especially coming from Audi DSG (had a TTS before the TTRS). I didn't get to drive it before I got it because I was one of the first batches to take delivery. Would probably have reconsidered buying that car if I drove it first. Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fun to drive, but everything just seems to be lacking that bit of refinement. C450 interior wins hands down. Exterior is arguable, I personally prefer the coupe styling of the CLA. Power deliver from the V6 is definitely smoother.... Totally different cars in my mind. Depends what you're after. Not sure if I was of any help, but feel free to ask me for anything specific you want to know.
