Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fun to drive, but everything just seems to be lacking that bit of refinement. C450 interior wins hands down. Exterior is arguable, I personally prefer the coupe styling of the CLA. Power deliver from the V6 is definitely smoother.... Totally different cars in my mind. Depends what you're after. Not sure if I was of any help, but feel free to ask me for anything specific you want to know.
I'm not sure if the ttrs has the same dsg as the newer golf r. But when I test drove the golf r, i was not impress at all. There was a slight lag between stopping and going. But the shifts were quick. If the cla45 is worse, I can only imagine the frustration when operating the vehicle.

The c450 transmission is quite smooth but definitely not perfect.

The TT-RS only came in stick here. It was my TTS that was DSG. Not sure if it's the same as the golf, but trust me, the CLA45 transmission can be pretty horrible, especially when starting from a stop. The transmission lag, combined with eco start/stop, and you'll launch yourself into whatever is ahead lol Best way I can explain it is... It's like you're driving stick, but someone else is controlling the clutch.

Previous car was a 2014 CLA45 (mountain grey), and the one before that one was a 2012 Audi TT-RS (daytona grey).. the list goes on. Getting old as you can tell from the progression

Have not seen the 4matic emblem on any other c450's. Was this added by you or the dealership? Or did it come from the factory like that?

I had the original exterior cf package on my cla45, but the cf available for this car is only the side mirrors and rear spoiler.

On the bright side, I'm getting the rear windows tinted on Saturday
Check out this link for reviews on the aftermarket CF pieces. Also has good info on the Authentic CF AMG Accessories as well if you want to go that route. http://c450amg.com/mods/

There is a rear diffuser available through Mode Carbon but is not advertised on the site. User Cgerm has it installed on his c450 and it looks really nice. Looks like you can email nicholas@modecarbon.com to get more info.

Car looks great man! Congrats!

I was just wondering the same thing about the 4matic badge.

Ours is due to show up in about two weeks. Wife is a little OCD and wanted me to remove the 450 badge because the lack of symmetry on trunk lid was bothering her. She liked the bi-turbo fender bages, said they look like "dimples"

Let me know if you have any ideas. Guess I will need to take to the dealer though I think they will look at me like I am nuts.
Hell all, wanted to ask this again, it got a bit lost in the large pictures. I had hoped it would come back and mysteriously as it had gone but no luck. When getting off the gas in S+ there is no 'burble" and the car seems to lose RPM slower. Quite a bit different that previous. Thanks

Try it in manual mode. If u let of the gas at near redline, and no crackle and pop, then something is wrong. Keep us updated

I believe that car is located in Canada. The 4matic badge is factory applied there.

Here's another variation from Asia, also factory applied:

Thanks for the info, I've been checking out c450amg.com as well. Very useful source of info. I'll look into that rear diffuser. I found this one: http://www.jl-motoring.com/Mercedes_...p/mbdi0501.htm but have read some pretty horrible stories about jl-motoring in other forums.

The lack of symmetry did not bother me so much, but it did work out. On every vehicle I've owned since 1985 (motorcycles included), I've put small badges that spell out my initials in nautical flag signals. No, I don't have a boat or anything; I did it initially when I was on vacation on Cape Cod. Now it's just sort of a tradition. Anyway, on the right deck lid of my 450 are three small, tasteful nautical flag emblems which offset the "C450" nicely... The next time the car is nice and clean, I'll take a snapshot and post.

Yup, we get stuck with the 4matic badge here in Canada. Some of the badges are quite excessive in other parts of the world.

Just installed the video in motion unlock from bimmerguru.com. I believe dvdinmotion.com also offers a similar solution. Customer service was excellent and I got the unlock software the same day; ordered yesterday afternoon and received it at night. Shot the video of the review this morning

I don't see the value of this, but I guess it's just me. Why would I want to drive and watch a video? How safe is that? Hmmm

Definitely not safe for the driver to watch a video and drive, but there are a few use cases which are useful for me. First one is fairly obvious, which is entertainment for the passenger(s) on longer drives. Another is to allow the passenger to enter a navigation destination. I'm sure I could come up with a few other useful scenarios, but it's definitely not for everyone.

I'm pretty sure this is a standard feature in Europe...plus over the air tv. It's a liability issue here in the United States due to the nature of our laws and regulations. Some older Mercedes could enable it via service menus i believe....

Distracted driving, that's what it is. Even if it is not illegal, I still wouldn't use it, anything that will increase the possibility of an accident is just not worth it for me

I like the look of this for badges... The c450 on left ... Amg on right... And black 4matic on bottom center... They all fit and look symmetrical and don't look cluttered.

^ That "4Matic" emblem under the plate looks horrible.

...as if the owner spends too much time on eBay looking for stick-on crap.
